This Sunday we made an easy Ride through the Early Spring at Beijing`s Countryside. Nothing special, only 3 Sidecars on the Road.
No Destination, what ever the Road will bring us, it is Ok...... and we "found" one of the new Towns the Chinese Government is building right now. Crazy! like beeing out of a Sience Fiction!

    Sabine,

Great job once again! The ghost town really looks like a strange experience especially because of all the new tall buildings!

Would you happen to have a couple of pictures of the ghost town?

Sabine, thanks for sharing another great video, I like your choices of music .

A ghost town and ski area all in one ride.... gotta love the variety of China.

    Cheers!

These ski "resorts" in and close by Beijing are actually really funny. Patches of snow on the slopes, surrounded by they grey and brown colored winter scenery. They move thousands of cubic meters of dirt and rocks to form these areas and spend vast amounts of water and electricity to make the snow. The total snowfall in Beijing per Winter is not more than 5 centimeters, and, if snow falls, it is sucked by the dry air in a day or two.

I once took the bike to go for skiing - just exchanged the riding boots with ski boots. Imagine the people staring at me, skiing with full riding gear

Sabine, was this Nanshan where you passed by?

    Sabine,

Thanks for that video. No matter whee one travels, the back roads are always the most surprising. It is interesting how parts of China go from third-world to first-world overnight!

    Cheers,
