I'd posted this in the Manufacturers Info but wasn't able to attach photos, so am reposting here complete with photos.

Yan Haimei, CEO QJ Benelli plans and statement can be found here.

Benelli BN600GT (BJ600GSA) is slated for release 27 May 2014 in PRC according to phone conversation with the Qianjiang Benelli factory based in Taizhou, Zhejiang province today (21 March, 2014). Pre-bookings deposits are being accepted at some Benelli dealers within the mainland. As of late April some dealerships have taken early delivery of the BN600GT aka BJ600GS-A.

    600gt002.jpg

QJ/Benelli advises that there will be two versions of the BN600GT adventure model. One version made in PRC will be exclusive to the domestic market, while the second version is intended for the international/global markets excluding PRC. The second/latter version will be assembled offshore from parts supplied by the Benelli Qianjiang PRC factory although no word, if any parts, for the upgraded model with [better quality] parts will be sourced from other suppliers.

    600gt003.jpg

One of the significant differences between the two versions is that the domestic market model will not be fitted with ABS, while the international destined version will. Other differences include upgraded suspension and brake components (conjecture on my part) as had occurred with the BN600GS or renamed BN600R model where the international model came with substantially upgraded brake and suspension components over the domestically available model.

    BN600GT MSRP CNY 49800.

Link to Yan Haimei, CEO QJ Benelli announcement of ADV model plans.

So there you have it. CFMoto you lot have dropped the ball, for two years I've been asking and looking for confirmation about the rumoured CFMoto ADV based on the 650cc twin found in the CF650NK and CF650TR models. It would make a more suitable power plant than an inline four. But there ya go, Benelli have come to the party first, aside from the likes of Shineray, which aren't even a contender IMO given the X5 is a 400cc... and according to the PRC motorcycling forums has been beset with issues.

Looks like I'll be crossing the 'divide' to buy the competitors ADV, CFMoto... c'est-la-vie

    YMMV

I don't really get it. These companies are Chinese, but they sell a lower quality bike in their own backyard? Is this intended to deliberately alienate their domestic consumers? Where else in the world would you need ABS more than in China?

Also I'm pretty sure the cost for the non-ABS cheaper brake padded, lower grade less adjustable suspension non wheel-balanced Chinese version will cost about the same as the landed taxed version in other countries just to add a bit more insult to injury.

Also hardly anyone in their western markets wants these bikes because hardly anyone wants a Chinese bike. Not only because the bikes have a reputation as being shoddily built, but because parts are a complete pain to get for Chinese bikes in western countries, it's simply much easier dealing with a large established supply chain like Honda or Yamaha.

    Qianjiang shoots self in foot.

Pretty obvious that the bike in the photos is the domestic model, check out those horrendous leg guards that don't even match with the rest of the bike! TIC addon for sure!

Hahahaha, who knew that we have had a bunch of would impressionists amongst our riding community...

Still a gas mask, well if so it might be a fitting tribute to the state of the environment on the East coast of PRC -> WC.

Got up close and personal with the Benelli BJ600GSA. The general quality of components, fit and finish look to the be of high quality, braided brake lines, SHAD top box, panniers though are made from a different plastic and unfortunately use different keys... in relation to the Benelli keys, interesting design to the ignition key which is almost like a flick knife type design...

The bike in the photo (one of two received by the dealer) was still partially incomplete (e.g. mirrors not installed, battery not fitted) with packing materials still attached on different surfaces.

The seating position was neutral for my 183cm tall frame, able to flat foot the ground (32" in-seam), and an easy reach to the bars with is a one piece bar. Found the reach to the clutch lever was a stretch, and surprised to find no dial adjustment on the lever, yet the RHS brake lever does have adjustment. Weird that there is adjustment on one lever but not the other. Small screen has no adjustment.

Really nice bike, though real shame that PRC don't get the ABS option, since if there's one place in the world where ABS should be mandatory this is it IMO.

    YMMV.

The exhaust header pipes really need some type of protection, as do the coolant hoses on the LHS. I'd suspect that a sump under-cowling might be something that the overseas Benelli factory might add to the model for the international markets, along with the ABS, better shock components etc.

Muffler collector box / catalytic converter gets in the way of any ambitions to fit an after market centre stand. I had as good look as I could underneath and beyond the aforementioned kit and could not find any form of brackets or bosses that could be employed for fitting a centre stand even if the muffler collector box / catalytic converter were to be removed.

Panniers locking mechanism two handles one to release from frame mounts on/off bike, while the other handle allows open/close pannier lid. Bonus is that the key can be removed so that the key is not needed for un/locking to open or close.
