My suggestion would be for BMS to merge with SSR and develop betters combined distribution systems and partners. They could combine and in that improve on branding and related marketing, documentation and parts support.

I am fairly certain that the industry and consumers have some trouble-transcending ego, in that they actually are counter progressive. Moving to the top, is about leading following or getting out of the way, climbing up requires making friends and enemies. There are too many players and for the wrong reasons.

The number one seller of scooters in the USA is ZHEN and they are selling through multiple brands and they need to combine that stream into one system. These entities that represent them separately are really just warehouses. They need to be dispersed regionally, and then in that linked through a single website that represents the manufacturer's brand name.

Then inventory gets dispersed across the total market and consumers buy through one interface online that sends the order to who is holding the closest inventory. There is no need for all these website stores; only one website is needed.

The existing distribution as it is will be negotiated for the rights to sales for defined geographic areas with franchise licenses. Then those will get the sales for the region they have the rights to. In that they can and will get the exclusive rights to others brands as offerings from a network of production centers in China. The system based on the use of VIN numbers and also Zip codes, the inventory allocated into the network and the right to sales and profits based on the location as a set of continuous zip codes. It is the only way as in that a brick and mortar dealer gets the rights to sales in their local market, even if the inventory is not in their store. However the margins for them lowered and do to them not holding the correct inventory to meet demand. In that over time forecasting models feed the inventory levels and the sellers are either warehouses or actual regional dealers.

The problem is that teaming on the market is currently undercutting in the market. The change is inevitable over time, however time goes on forever. I image the remaining production will be different in the end; the remaining will not be copies they will be unique designs that are exclusive and protected in the markets. Not about offering cheaper copies but more about the efficiency and also about doing it all correctly.

It can be about creating a solid footprint in the market; the BS150-11 IV could be developed into a BS223-R and also a BS223-N : simply consider the Kymco Quannon offerings.
This proposed offering could be configured with a 125-150-200cc as well as the 223cc engines, obviously.

    Quannon R

    Quannon N

For the USA it would be all about the 223cc and its 17hp, which needs to come with a very good hp to weight ratio. It would be in the form of a race bike and also a naked version as well as a Dual sport and Motard. All sharing the same perimeter frame used in the BS150-11 IV

This proposal represents four models and they would come with different engines sizes for each international global market, for the US 223cc and for the UK 125cc.

In the USA you need a distribution partner, in that you would be seeking a JV between BMS and SSR, to hold inventory and distribute it within in their established sales network, however all sales would be procured through a single NEW Bashan America website.

It would be imperative to get the offerings right, fit and finish and documentation and parts support systems all on that single website. The orders sent out from the one website to the combined sales network and they would hold the actual physical inventory. It’s about separating the marketing but not the distribution channels.

Here is the BS150-11IV as the model to refine for this offering, it would or could replace the Lexmoto XTR and shift that to a line of models offered through a NEW Bashan UK network through Lexmoto and it would then have its own website, just like Pulse does. It would take the XTR 125 and expand it into four 125cc offerings supplied by Bashan and branded as Bashan, but supported by Lexmoto.

    BS150-11 IV

In procuring this partnership in the existing network existing in other markets and securing the established distribution networks could be then all aligned. That is all about presentation and also demonstration, of not just the products, but the system used and the results.

Not an exact copy of the Kymco a better version of it, a refined betters version for less.
These could fetch 1500 eur at retail (125CC) in the Uk and 2500 at retail US in america (223cc), once you make a solid footprint then you can keep improving and offering more and in that gain more in retail prices.

It is a distribution system, so in combining BMS and SSR they link the distribution system and in that they can separate marketing for specific brands like ZHEN, Pioneer and others like Bashan. Then the factory should focus on them and the market and agree to sell to no others.

Creating exclusive territory assures revenue for those and offering an exclusive network assures that those invested in the distribution are not under cut on price and certainly not by the same factory they purchase out of.

Being the biggest and insuring that it is done right and totally legal wins.

Is that 223cc engine a Honda clone?I'm interested in the enduro but I'd like to know what parts would cross over on the engine and service parts such as brakes, carbs, etc.

Here is the thing if the bikes are to be professionally marketed then all the parts have to be represented like this part, which is the carburetor used on the Honda CRF230L, it has a schematic and then a list of bits and all the prices of each.

I am fairly certain that most of the Chinese manufacturers these days are purchasing their 223cc from Zongshen and they typically set them up with the standard PZ30 carburetor that is pretty universal and cheap. Honda does not use that carburetor and the brakes are not likely the same either, why would I want it to match the Honda part the prices are higher for Honda parts. I would want them to be decent quality and priced lower than Honda and easy to identify and purchase.

Once all the parts are clearly identified, then upgrades can be made. That is a matter of interoperability and these people are masters at that, they make most everything in levels and with upgrades. The upgrades can be offered stock or as after sale upgrades that can be bought through the same system. However things like selling jets or other alteration to what is related to emissions is actually illegal. However a carburetor could be sold that increases HP without defeating emissions. Case in point the CRF230 has more hp and uses a different carburetor. That is more about engineering then anything and about adhering to strict specifications.

I would like to see something more impressive, apposed to all that is in realty repulsive with all the bullshit sales pitches for cheap crap.

It is possible that Honda could have some exclusive rights to that engine, but I do not think they do anymore. The industry should listen to consumers, through sales not literally taking advice, not from ordinary people, that will be a world of pain if they do.

I think SSR has become one of the premier Chinese distributors of products--as (almost) a one stop shop. I think they did very well by using whichever OEM makes their pit bikes. I see numerous videos on youtube from dozens and dozens of owners, and none have said anything along the line of "these bikes are ok, for a Chinese bike..." or whatever people usually say about Chinese bikes. Many are kids or young adults who have no qualms beating on them, and they seem to take the abuse. Their scooters, OEM'd by Zhen are also good quality. Adding in a CRF clone dirt bike and the Pioneer/Qingqi enduros, as well as the Skyteam street retro minis seems to enhance them and keep them as a one-stop shop.

I am not as familiar with BMS, but I know they are in the same sort of league of perceived quality due to the Znen scooters (I believe they are Znen) and their buggies. I could see them successfully merging with SSR if that was to benefit both.
