#1 China Bikes for Two-up Riding04-10-2014, 07:07 AM
I have been reading several threads over the past several days just trying to get familiar with all of the major Chinese bike brands; Shineray, Jialing, CF-Moto, etc. I would like to hear from you guys that ride two-up on a regular basis, out of the city. What bikes do you have and better yet, what does your back seat rider like and dis-like about your bike? Which bike do you see others riding that you wish you had bought? Please exclude side-car discussions. Thanks for your input!

OK, so nobody takes their lady on the back of their bike! You do it because you have to on occasion but don't want to share the adventures of grocery getting!

No, I will, but its not the same! you can forget driving like a lunatic! ;)
But seriously even 125cc engine is capable to carry two people..
proper bikes have very small pillion seats and they tend not to be very good.. excluding these custom bikes ;)
choose what you like most.. then let the woman adjust to your choice ;)

I think I understand. There really is no perfect passenger riding experience on a China made bike at this point. There is no Chinese GoldWing or Ultra-Classic with a plush 1980's captain's style bucket seat chair from a (my) hippie conversion van.
The good thing in my favor is my new passenger has never ridden on a motorcycle so hasn't seen or felt real touring on a big bike.
Well she might get spoiled on the Harley this summer in the States and then may never get back on a small China bike. But, then again, I may create a good cheer-leader to splurge and get a big bike here!!! Ugh. Tai Gui le!

I have found the pillions really like the top box behind them, as they feel more secure . You can tour two up on a 125 , just need to be realistic about speed. I prefer a 250 dualsport type bike such as Shineray with more leg room and very little weight on my arms/wrists. At the low speeds there is no body lift so you don't want to be holding yourself up all day.

Just as an example , this pillion got herself really comfortable on the back of the red piglet.

I've never sat on the back of my bike, but another member Sober Pete did when we had to pick up his bike one time. He said it was 'horrible'.
My bike is a CFMOTO 650NK by the way. Although someone else set the longest two up record for mileage in one country, and that was on a CFMOTO 650TR, so that must be a better machine for two-up. Also Bikerdoc is selling one in the classified section, bargain price, barely run in. http://www.mychinamoto.com/forums/sh...650TR-for-sale
