    SF Express ship motorcycles.
However unlike a motorcycle specific shipper, SF Express need to know the gross weight including wooden box, before SF Express can provide any quotation. To send domestically most shipper state that motorcycle must be in a wooden box (a specific wood). SF Express don't crate the bike, meaning one would have to find somewhere to do that etc... plus they need to know the overall dimensions after crating bike.
Bike must have an empty petrol tank or less than 1 litre (typical requirement).
Shipping insurance is based on percentage of the bikes replacement value.

Plenty trucking companies ship bikes even the one major at the railway station - general rule is no gas and a stupid wooden crate regardless of bike. Costs are low I've paid as low as 300¥ Shenzhen to Chengdu

... I remember in the past it was limiter to 250cc and/or a certain weight. Is that still the case?

Great idea and useful info, however some trucking companies have limitations concerning a motorcycles weight and size. As the general rule of thumb is that most companies here work to a 'rule of generalities' - that is catering to the masses. What this means in simple terms is that dealing with what is the commonest denominator in terms of motorcycles in the middle kingdo0m, means a 125-150cc which weigh somewhere in the vicinity of approx. 100-150kg.

Bigger motorcycles in the TIC LFZ are outliers, and as such are generally not expected. So when dealing with any trucking company looking to freight/ship there is a good chance the answer to hauling anything >250cc weighing in excess of 175kg will be a 'no'.

The other more significant issue is that freighting/shipping a motorcycle with just any trucking company not well set up for doing so, and at the cheap end of the market may result in damage, pilfering or worse, total loss of the motorcycle, as has been reported on MCM previously.

One gets what one pays for, and that really is so true in TIC IMHO. "Pay peanuts, get monkey's"

    Buyer be[A]ware

    YMMV

Well, it used to be so that China Bikes in Europe gave rather good value (if we forget the troubles to get parts), but now since almost all major brands have small budget bikes, I begin to see no reasons to buy a China Bike.
