Here is something interesting. I was looking today at a website that, I thought, was selling this bike on sale for a decent price. Here is the D250RTD:

    http://www.scooterdepot.us/shopping/...r/archives/187

If you look at it, it is certainly the same engine as the bobber (as in the huge thread here). You can see a closeup of the engine, and it is certainly a pushrod motor.

But, on the website I was looking at today:

    http://www.powersportsmax.com/produc...ducts_id/17413

Looks like the same bike, same price, etc. Till you look closely at the engine here. It is most certainly an overhead cam motor.

Man, this Chinese motorcycle industry is a bit odd, isn't it? The more I learn about it, the more confused I get.

I was thinking that a pushrod single would be the most basic motor as far as maintenance. The pushrod specs say 13 horsepower, while the overhead cam model says 15. That's probably about right. But, under speed heading, the DongFang says 75+, while the overhead cam model says 56+.

    Very confusing.

Could be just a "Chinese in a big rush" mistake. I do know that within a couple years after some of these get trashed for what ever reason I am going to be looking for one of these OHC motors. Its a quick 3 + real HP. That's about all that stands between the China bobber and real usability. If my motor just had a pinch more power it would be usable for all two lane Hwy. use IMHO. BTW I'm also 255 and 6'3 though.

Looks like they changed the engine of the D250RTD to an overhead cam one for the 2014 model. The 2012 D250RTD appears to have the 167fmm like the DF250RTB.
Here is an engine that claims to be 17HP

Here is a pushrod 246cc at 15.5 HP

No, not the DF250RTB (bobber or hardtail). I'm referring to the bike that birdmove started this thread about. (D250RTD)
My 2012 DF250RTB has the push rod engine like the 2010 DF250RTB (bobber).

That's the one. It looks like a pretty nice machine to me. I can't seem to find anyone that owns one to tell me how they like it. It basically looks like a Honda Rebel with a thumper engine, which make sense. There are a few youtube videos on line from a seller showing the bike and riding it a bit.

Correctly called a DF250RTD at the inactive USA Dong Fang site. They don't respond to email.

Yea, looks nice and I would like to see if the overhead cam engine has noticeably more juice than the push rod one.

Here is a guy who bought one. Not much info other than complaints about the manual and tool kit.
