Sorry to hear about your crash resulting in a broken clavicle (collarbone). How long are you off riding? How much damage to your bike?

I might take the Z50 clone to the Dragon before we head to FL for the winter. Looks like we might be staying in NC a little longer this year than usual because of a wedding after Thanksgiving. Also my wife is teaching fiddle at a after school program and has a very promising student that she wants to help so she wants to stay a little longer. Some children can really pick up fiddling in a short time.

If it was up to the wife, I would never ride again! On visual inspection, the bike looks like barely any damage occurred, but who knows? I have intense pain, so can't really do much diagnosing.

I would love to read how your red-headed stepchild, aka z50 replica , handles a long ride.

How related are fiddles to violins? Can one, for all intents and purposes, pick up one or the other and play them if one is trained on one or another.

Had a final run on the Lifan yesterday for 2 weeks. Am away all next week on a training course then away on holiday for a week. Managed to squeeze a mile or two more out of it. Clocked it at 54.7 mph, may have got a bit more but ran out of straight road and my progress was hampered by cars dithering about. On return from holiday going to buy the machined down hub.

I think both rider and bike will miss each other You are getting more and more out of her as far as top speed goes

The fiddle and the violin are the same instrument. Just the type of music that is being played determines what they are called.

Just got back from the Dragon. The CT70 clone tops out at 56 MPH GPS at 3000' elevation. Might have a little more speed but not much. Cruises nicely at 45 MPH GPS.

The Z50 wannabe will get a run soon. I'm guessing about the same speed as the CT70 clone.

Barnone, your CT clone tops out at 56mph. But, that is with a rear sprocket change, is that right? So, comfortable cruising at 45 mph.

Birdmove--what is the average elevation of the big island? I mean, obviously sea level where you live, but getting to the interior, will you see 3k' sections? That is where barnone is riding at getting 56 mph, so if you are far lower elevations in the majority of your riding, 'your gains will vary' (for the better!).

No rear sprocket change. The front was changed from 15 tooth to 17 tooth. It will probably do a bit more than 56 GPS but I don't have a longer level straight away here in the mountains. Don't think it will do 65 MPH GPS. Speedometer is 5 to 10% optimist.
Yep, comfortable cruise at 45 MPH GPS. I do have the next size up tires to install which should help correct the speedometer a bit.
