2) the second cause are Vibrations, Look if your bulb inner wire is horizontal, when not make it horizontal. It helps but not solve the problem.
Thanks beniamin, I do think it was vibrations as my plate frame lights did not burn out when the oem tail and brake light filaments blew. The plate lights are isolated with rubber bushings and they are LEDs. I checked for burned filaments and blackness on the bulb when the problem kept happening but only broken filaments. I also disabled the tail light and the filament still broke after my 20 mile trip home. Right now I'm running without the OEM tail light as the plate lights are super bright.
