03-23-2009, 09:38 PMI have a Qlink XF200 and was looking around for some better performance brake pads for the front like EBC pads but when I started to look at them they are totally different from the Suzuki DR200SE & DRZ125L, both these bikes use a single piston caliper with totally different shaped pads.
Its weird that this bike shares almost everything with the DRZ125L except the front brakes.
Does anyone know if I can get aftermarket pads for this bike or if there is another brand of bike that uses the same pads?
Thanks,

03-24-2009, 12:52 PMEBC have a comprehensive catalogue listing virtually all makes, including some Chinese but not the Qingqi.
Nevertheless they have illustrations of all shapes of pads, so it's more than possible that other bikes share our shape of pads. It's just a question of wading through the very extensive catalogue having first looked to see what shape and size of pads we have.
I'll have a go myself later on.

03-24-2009, 02:02 PMI am going to try to go through part of the catalog today and see if I can find some that looks like the ones on our bikes. If I have any luck I will let you know.
Hopefully someone out there makes aftermarket pads for our bikes because I havent checked with the dealer yet but I am sure the stock dealer pads will be expensive.Qlink XF200 Flat Black MODS: P&P Exhaust Pipe-125 Main Jet-35 Idle Jet-Jet Needle Clip On Forth From Top Position-Denso Iridium Spark Plug IX24-Sprocket Specialists #550-16 16T Front Sprocket-SAI Removed-Rear Fender Cut Off-Brake Light Flasher-55 Watt Headlight Bulb

03-24-2009, 03:24 PMHey forchetto, check this out!!! If you go to page 127 in the EBC 2009 UK/Europe/Asia Motorcycle catalog it has the Superbyke RMR 200 SM and it says TBA but if you go to page 126 it has the Superbyke RMR 125 which I am pretty sure is the same bike and it lists front pads as FA135 and rear pads FA054. Now if you go to page 184 in the catalog it shows the front pads and they look exactly like the ones on our bikes. It also has a cross reference of brands and part numbers. They even have an oversized version which just has more pad area (FA202). I attached 2 pages so everyone doesnt have to download the large manual.
Here are the 3 versions of pads, this was copied from page 4 in the catalog:

03-24-2009, 03:45 PMBrilliant bit of detective work there... They look like the ones on mine. I once used EBC brake pads on a kit car and they were a vast improvement on the OEM ones. They also appear to be available in various materials depending on the sort of use or performance required.
The only thing to watch out for, on car pads at least, is that the race material ones require quite a bit of warming up before they give their best.
By the way, have you seen the full 478 page workshop manual (in Portuguese unfortunately) that our friend Luis Carlos from Brazil has uploaded?. It's quite brilliantly written and has loads of images.
