In the race setup I did 300km finally. Average consumption was 6.2L/100km.
Yesterday I put in the O2 sensor again.
The bike has now a smoother behavior and is not so brutal rough anymore. The power is slightly less but not significant and rev up takes a little bit longer..
But all still a happy performance.
The remarkable thing is that after two gas fillings the consumption dropped significantly to max 4.5L / 100km even on ambitious riding style. I ran it for 100km on the expressway stable at 100kmph and got the to 4L / 100km.
    I will keep this configuration

... Wanna see this RS on 10 inch wheels 😜

Just warn you its a binary bike 0 or 1. Nothing in between.
You count the times when you run it decent on 100km/h.
Mainly it tempts you to wheelie at any red light cross road.

.... but I am still smiling since yesterday's riding fun

    Hi Guys
Now with 2 owners on MCM who are the proud owners of an SWM 500R.

Which I have said is IMO a great bike for touring around China.

After nearly 50.000km riding my Honda CRF 250L all over Thailand and Laos.

I considered it may be helpful if I posted my set up that allows the bike to carry soft bags which IMO is the way to go.

After viewing a picture of a 650R bike (hopefully it the same set up as the 500R)
I can see the SWM has a similar design to the CRF so hopefully the pictures here post could be of some assisted in your design.

From the picture of the SMW, it looks like it is not design to take a rear back rack, so I am not sure how strong the rear subframe is.

Hopefully yo can see how I have taken a support bracket to tie it with the rear foot rest?.

This helps transfer the load from the back rack to another strong point.

The soft bags used are a copy of a 25l Givi soft bag purchased off Taobao.

You need to weld 2 lugs at the bottom of the 2 frames to allow the Givi bags to be tied back to stop the bags from moving.

For the CRF the top mounting points were simple as the CRF has 2 mounting points on each side for a back rear top rack.

I hope my pictures and information helps you to design your systems.

If you need to ask other question please do so.

The 650's have different frames, rear sub frame, and also some small differences to the swingarm compared to the RS300/500R and SM500R

That said so the pictures and information may be of some use and hopefully, you can fabricate a good frame for some soft bags. Barry.

Woops after checking again on my PC I did have a picture of the 500R
