ZMC found this thought you might be interested.http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XNjY1NjgxODIw.html Better MTBing trails further up the road though (single track). Good Back country skiing there also. Touch cold though. http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XNjkzOTAxNDI0.html Umm they still haven't worked out that the best riding is following the livestock tracks up into the mountains and they had a 4wd shuttle.

Nice stuff. It's a bit typical of the locals to be risk averse XC riders. They say I'm a down-hiller 'because my bike has a rear shock' which is 'very dangerous'. In the west we call my bike a 150mm trail/All Mountain/Enduro bike, far from a DH rig.
Check out the one I made of me in my local terrain.

ZMC sweet. And westerners tell me there is no good MTB terrain in China. At 3.39 is that a trail bike rider or local farmer on the moto.

No good MTB terrain in China? haha. There are lots of farmers, they all walk, wheel a barrow or sometimes cycle or ride their motorcycle up to the field, very few fences and 'my property starts here' demarcations as in the west. Therefore there is shit loads of excellent easily accessible single track! China is probably the best MTB country in the world in fact, just totally untapped and written off by the clueless. Luckily I'm the only one, keeps the erosion levels down to a minimum.
3.39 farmers 70-100cc Jialing forward firing type single China 'agg' bike.

ZMC when The Chinese Premiere came to tassie a couple of months ago there was much ado. the local MTB tour company put a tongue in check comment about XJP might want to come do one of his MTB tours. I told him if he was into MTBing he had no reason to leave China as it was MTB heaven. His response " what China nothing but cities and masses of people and pollution everywhere' emm big fail there mate.Funny thing is they have a disused train line here that there going to rip out and turn into a 34 klm hiking and MTB trail running up into the mountains. Perfect for what the Chinese are used to riding back in China. Some people can't see the forest through the trees.Yeah I have told many people that there are no fences they can't get their heads around that one.:) yep those farmers sure get those cheap chinese motos into places westerners would fear to go.

Sorry Changed a few sensitive 'hotwords' in the thread, things stopped loading properly.
Back on topic, we've got local foreigners with absolutely no idea what's on their own doorstep, the make presumptions about what is there. The leave and never see a mountain or a farm, nothing. Others go to tourist trap areas and presume there is nothing else. Sure there is pollution etc factories and so on, but China is probably the most mountainous country on earth.
