    hello im new to this forum and new to owning a chinese engine and need a little help.

    I recently purchased a engine from criaglist it is just the engine from a ATV. its unbranded and the only thing i can find identifying the engine is that its a 167fmm manual clutch 4 forward speeds and reverse. it didnt come with a CDI or wiring harness. did come with a recitifier and carb (thats missing the throttle) All the connectors have been cut from the stator and recitier.

    Im not sure were to start, googling 167fmm just brings me to importing site to buy the engine in bulk. if i knew what it was a clone of and what machine/s it would have been in would also be a help. its going into a home built cycle-car.

    thanks for the help! i can post pictures if needed.

    Most "167FMM" are air-cooled CG250. Does it look like http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=19602800553 ?

    Yes with the exception that it doesnt have any branding stamped on the transmission cover, and the plugs have been cut from the neutral and reverse light wires.

    I'm not sure if i am posting my thread in the right section either, sorry if I'm not.

    Here is a link to the CDI

    you need the rectifier if you intend to use a battery.

    Connector is either rectangular ("std" learned from Taiwan) http://www.sanxin.com.cn/exhibit/upl...8522499844.jpg or round (Honda) http://www.sanxin.com.cn/exhibit/upl...5371625487.jpg

    Hello,
    I also bought a 167FMM with troubles inside but complete electric system.
    Beside of that, electric system is a CG like one with AC ignition system. I have wiring diagram somewhere if you still need;
    What about cooling in you system ? Those engines are made for hard work but need cooling.
    regards.
