Looking for a motorcycle in Harbin, Beijing or near by.

I will arrive in the beginning of June in the Northeast of China, and I want to buy a bike.

Best would be a dual purpose type of travelling bike, lets say a Jialing 600 or a Shineray X5 (400cc) or a Zongshen RX3 (250cc) or something similar. But it could be as well a small road bike like a copy of a Yamaha YBR or Honda CG (150cc). Important is, that the bike is in very good technical condition, the milage is low (not more than 15.000kms) and that the paperwork is more or less in order. Color/year or scratches do not matter.

Offers over the message function or over email

    thank you

    Hello motoguzzi,

no, not easy to enter China with your own bike. This is the way I did it:

    http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...na-i-did-82852

it took a week and 2000 RMB to get in ... and a week and 300 USD to get out over Turugat pass ....

    greetings from Baku

    Hi Mika

Just read your RR from the link...... well done good on you, one very determined person.

But if I may correct you on 1 point to which you may wish to add on your RR because people on this forum already know the reasons.

It is to do with the comment you made about "petrol station" you said that
but still the only big problem I had, was getting fuel, as they don’t sell it to foreigners.
If I may point out that is not correct off course foreigners can buy petrol in China ???

But the problem you in counted was your bike did not have the Blue Book ( Bike documents ) and the Black Book ( Chinese driving licensed) to which SOME and only Some petrol station require you show to obtain petrol , from my riding all over China this requirement is mainly in the West of China and large city's .

I hope you don't mind me pointing out this error

Thank you for posting the link

    Hello Prince666,

thank you for your reply, you are right, I did not have a Blue Book or a Black Book or any other book ...

    I wrote in my RR

Xingjang province was the worst what I saw of the police state of China, but still the only big problem I had, was getting fuel, as they don’t sell it to foreigners.
The only province I had problems getting fuel, was Xingjang province ... I did not write that that this happened all over China. And in Xingjang province, they would ask me for my Chinese ID card, that I did not have, to sell fuel to me. They never asked for any bike document (books), so it was clear that they would sell petrol only to Chinese (or foreigners with an ID card). But with Yuhmak I have a range of 800-900 kms, so I did not need to fill up every day, but it was the same all over Xingjang province. But at some stations they would just sell it to me, putting my passport number into their list. And in one little town I had to go to the police to get a paper that would allow the people at the petrol station to give me fuel.

So, at least in this point I did not make an error in the report.

I don't have a Chinese ID card ??? so how does it work for me ???? as to Xingjang province it is very regulated due to the many Self-immolation with the monks .
