For many attempting to a ride a motorcycle in PRC can and will be somewhat intimidating, what with language, food, and other perceived barriers real or otherwise, to mention nothing of cultural and societal norms, values, belief systems, and behaviours. For some having the support of a local guide, may well be worth the effort and expense and a fast track to enjoying the ride. For others with stronger fortitude and tenacity, riding through the middle kingdo0m without a guide makes up the adventure...

The following posts have been taken from a fellow motorcyclist (couple) who've ridden through mainland PRC unguided on foreign plated and therefore temporarily imported motorcycles.
