I would imagine as I enquired about the 2016 model and it's available now in Aug 2015 then yes the logic dictates that in August 2016 the ABS 2017 model would be available.
Don't agree re oversight with ABS. Early ABS was intrusive. Now with more luxury models ABS is a great addition.
I have my doubts on a budget tourer how good the ABS would be real world riding. Nice to have though.
I've already spent hours trawling the internet for reviews and found several. More positive than negative.
Reliability wise, the Great Ride of China. Two up 30,000km, 146 days over rough terrain and hardly any mechanical issues.
It's tempting and I still haven't as yet put a deposit down.

Indeed I think that the TR/TK ABS will be available sooner than 2017 in the UK.

I've ridden bikes back in the eighties with ABS, and I still have a late eighties/early nineties 1000cc model BMW with ABS and shaft drive. To me the vocal BS about ABS pulsing and whatnot when activated on the early designed ABS is a lot to do about nothing. The ABS on that BMW saved my arse more than once even on a slick corner (long before the new fangled cornering ABS) in a mountain gorge between New Plymouth & Hamiltio, NZ) where the back end started to let go on a very rain saturated slick tar-seal corner, I braked hard, stood the bike up and stopped just shy of the Armco barrier, all thanks to the ABS. Probably needed to change my underwear after that one.

Sure the newer ABS designs have come a long way. But I don't give a toss how good of a rider one is, ABS will likely save one arse more often than not when the brakes are applied in a panic stopping situation. The only caveat to that is off-road (dirt) situations. Which is why the majority of ADV, dual sports bikes that have ABS equipped have an ABS off button, to allow for trail braking etc.

As stated, if it was me in your situation and I was serious about buying a TR/TK as opposed to a different (and IMO a better brand), I would hold off and wait for the arrival of the ABS equipped model. 'Cause if you buy the TR/TK and like it so much it's a stayer and then the ABS models arrive, you may wish you had that model.

The ABS on the NK I rode at the CIMA 2014 show was as good as any ABS I've used (although I only got to ride round a closed circuit for 10-15mins), and I have a couple of bikes in my stable that have ABS, as well as ridden other bikes with ABS. I've two CFMoto rides in the stable too but neither have ABS. Had three CFMoto's at one time, but sold one several years ago. Been to the CFMoto factory more than once, and it is way better than other local PRC motorcycle manufacturers I've been to here (which is not all of them).

In regards to the 'Great Ride of China' - know it well. I rode with Buck and Amy as did a mate here in Zhejiang province. We accompanied Buck and Amy on a full day ride for a visit to the CFMoto factory... which made that visit number five (to CFMoto factory) for me. We stayed there for the weekend and watched them do a presentation on the trip, twice.

Sure, the CFMoto 650 products are better than the average Ch!nese designed and made motorcycles, but still the products are not to the same level as any of the Jap@nese big 4. The devil is in the details. The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
