The JH600 has a plastic tank under its plastic body parts. Taking off all the plastic will not make it any prettier. It has a perimeter frame with a plastic tank nested inside and then covered in plastic body panels, the results, it looks like it swallowed an egg.

It would probably not be impossible to use RX3 body parts on its frame.

The RX3 could potentially set global sales records.

IMO, the bike doesn't look like it could be massaged into anything stylish. Yet, I'm very interested in how it will turn out. I would probably look at bikeexif.com for inspiration of some sort. They usually post nice bikes there.
    What I would (probably) do
    - remove and simplify the headlight (round one would do)
    - remove the tank and replace it with something that looks like a CB1000 tank (if possible)
    - remove the plastic side panels and see if I could fabricate mesh covers instead
    - reroute the exhaust
    - modify the subframe and give it a different seat (probably a desert sled type???)
    - somehow (no ideas here) work with the visual length of the motorcycle, trying to make it be less cumbersome. Front fender probably???
    - neat speedo cluster

Overall my aim would've been creating something more visually lightweight, something that looks in one piece and is less plasticky. yet I'd want it be functional with proper fenders and comfortable seat / bars / pegs setup.
I wouldn't want to loose off-road capabilities in any way, so I'd stick with dual sport tires.

    My 5 cents.

Rode one from Laos back to Xishuangbanna about 1000km so here is my 2cents worth.
Ditch all the bodywork the seat and the rear shock. The engine is nice and the brakes and front end are ok. As Texas Aggie is using a Wilburs rear shock that's a good place to start.
The seat... I don't know if it is just my enormous testicular circumference but that seat , the way it turns up at the front is just terrible..
Good luck I hope you can get it going somehow and don't be shy removing stuff from it. Nothing to lose I reckon.
