Yeah that would be the polar opposite of a Chang in terms of reliability. The modern era engines are unfairly called clones but I have seen quite a few improvements added to the original Honda 80's era design. The Chinese version has cam bearings, roller rockers, long stroke and numerous bore options. I don't recall early xr 200's having electric start, not that they need it ...

It is the last 100 bucks that the Chinese builders refuse to spend that lets the bikes down.

In Yangzhou you could buy a jin of nice 8mm stainless nylock nuts for 20 kuai. If you replace every fastener on the bike with a good quality item many of the troubles of bits falling off or rattling to bits never occur.

Put a nice NGK In it and a nice chain some Castrol and you are pretty set for reliability .

So all this stuff costs a hundred bucks

Why would you want a CJ? Illegal, no insurance, if registered...fake, same fuel economy as a proper 750, but with the power of a lawnmower stop speed of 85 km/h, yawn, and rebuilt by the incompetent and the reliability of well it's about benchmark for unreliable. You aren't even allowed to own one! The best thing about motorcycles is that they have quick acceleration and can lean, also you can flush those advantages away.

The iconic bike for China though like an Enfield Bullet 500 in India. Please think about the actual engineering worthiness of a bike not its poetic fantasy.
Without consciousness, space and time are nothing; in reality you can take any time -- whether past or future -− as your new frame of reference. Death is a reboot that leads to all potentialities.
