My God, end of the World is near - it is sunny in East Midlands.

Here's one opinion: if you are planing to keep this bike (it is a nice commuter - if you ask me) for a few years, maybe it would be better to refurbish him properly during winter. Riding season is almost over (how much you have there, 4 to 6 weeks?), so you can enjoy riding during Indian summer instead of fixing, polishing, disassembling and assembling.
Ask me nothing - I DO NOT speak english. Really...

    Hello & Welcome......
    Riding season almost over!!
I ride year round....weather, snow & ice permitting.
But i agree it could be a long term project for the dark nights.
    Best of luck!
