09-21-2015, 10:57 AMForgive me if i am going off topic!
Got a question regarding to applying for chinese DL on tourist visa? Is it possible to buy and register a motorcycle while on any tourist visa?
Even with 12 months visa with multiple entry is there any chance to get legally on a road?
Cheers!

I think if you have six months left on any visa or three months sometimes you can get a Chinese D/L. However some areas may interpret the rules to think that only a resident permit is enough or other areas that have banned licenses won't issue them. But having a one year tourist should be OK most places, but in China you can never be sure!

You need a visa that is at the day of application at least still 6 month valid.
Additionally you need a valid residence registration paper. A friendly hotel will help to get the paper as you are registered at check in.
I got my first license in XiAn with a 12month business visa and the residence paper (in 2006). Times may have changed.SWM RS500R, R1200GS LC
