#1 My backyard04-17-2009, 03:32 AM
I only get to see the main range at selected times. It is when we get a wind storm in with rain which we did yesterday and the visibility is very bad during the wind storm but the next morning dawns perfectly clear with no pollution(not that there is that much pollution up here) and the main range presents itself. I have only seen it a few times since I have been here.

I want to play in your backyard
We have a similar condition down here in Guangdong during the Typhoon season. You walk outside and think..... I wonder where all the pollution (of which we have plenty) went?
Looks nice

So you are now finally in Xinjiang.
How did you find your backyard

If you are asking how did i find my backyard and the photos of the mountains.
I just wait for a windstorm which seem to come about every 10 days if is raining all the better.
Wait for the next day then just walk 5 minutes out the back door and there they are.
They where out yesterday and this morning and you had a clear view of the general ( one of the larger peaks )
If you are asking how I find living in Xinjiang that's a longer story and I can tell you over a few beers next time you are up this way.
Suffice to say I am pissed off they are making it very hard to get my Motorcycle license.Especially today I can see the tracks leading up the front mountain range just begging to be ridden.

Thanks for the photo. It looks like you are living near the Russia border i.e. somewhere near 185 Company.
Why do you need a driver's license to ride a bike in Xinjiang? Not many people borders in the countryside.
I should be back in Xinjiang in 2010 and will catch up with you how everything go.
