Gents,
I'm looking for info on the MV Agusta Rivale RIP-OFF that I saw last year at Canton Fair.
Can't remember the model specs and the name of the manufacturer.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks!
Nic

last year?
Visordown had an article this year about a patent filed in China for a knock off of an MV.

Fekon has set up a subsidiary called FK motors, which has been working with MV Augusta
This is a model FK displayed this year in Milan...
MV Augusta a few years ago struck an arrangement with Lifan for sales in China of their products, that seems to have been transferred to FEKON. That seems also to have come with some technology sharing and research development and marketing consult.Last edited by MJH; 12-28-2015 at 01:21 PM.

I have to wonder about this AD…
Why is the model in pink fire suit? I cannot believe that many Italians would see that as stylish, what is the Z for…Zoolander?
The bike itself is actually good, the ad not so much.
That’s the protective gear a race car driver wears, not used on a motorcycle, the gear is different.
I think the best products sell themselves, they only need distribution.
Racing offers good advertising, actually it is funded by advertising. For example the gear the riders use protects them and it doubles as ad space.
So setting up a race team, requires sponsors. If that is a company that also sell motorcycles, that company behind them would be the first. Then you add the product names, of others, to the gear and for a fee. The value of the space, is based on the value of the race team.Last edited by MJH; 12-29-2015 at 04:09 PM.

A good analogy would be Mahindra, they formed a race team in 2011, and they contracted a Swiss company to develop an engine for them. Suter Racing Technology AG, that is a matter of taking on the big leagues, they actually did pretty well.

There are also rumors that FK has intentions in developing a 600cc turbo charged model, there currently is no turbo charged motorycle in production. There has been in the past though all the big four Japanese had a turbo model at one time.

As for racing MotoGP does have a 600cc class, however it prohibits the use of turbocharging. So it’s safe to say their 600 will not be competing there. It could compete in Supersport though, but not in Superbike as they are not 800cc, the 600 would need to be a homologated model in production. My guess would be that FK Motors/Racing would be competing there, with production models that can be purchased and ridden on the streets. They could also race at the Isle of man.
They for sure know where they are going, it is just that their website does not offer much information other than that they have aspirations for racing.
They likely are working with MV Augusta and it can be seen in prototype, it shares allot with the F3.

I believe that Fekon is a go to OEM for other Chinese manufactures, what that would be is a company that provides OEM services for other factories, if the other factory has a production shortage they would then contract Fekon to fill the gap. What is interesting is that consumers seem to like the Fekon made models better and they are doing well in the market with their own branded models. They may be better managed, in the volatile industry many factories loosing production leads to layoffs, that being less demand requires less labor, that can lead to lack of production capability. If the factory lets go of labor and then gets an order they then outsource the production gap.
