I wonder if they will try for CARB, or will it be 'Californians need not apply'? It would be silly not to try for California, unless that is what made their XF250 enduros so expensive?! Those enduros have a lot of quality in them, but they are $3k with the lowest price I have seen is $2,800. The Snake Eyes is made by Pioneer who is affiliated with Qingqi, who make the SSR enduro, and Qingqi is also the source for Cleveland Cycle Werk's lineup. I remember when CCW was using Lifan as their original engine's OEM, but according to the EPA/DOT list, Qingqi is their OEM for their whole bike. Pioneer is technically a different company, but is a subsidiary of Qingqi in some way, so it is probably the technicality as to why Qingqi can supply CCW bikes and SSR's bobber...

That is some good horsepower! I believe this is the same engine that is Suzuki-ish as found on the Qingqi enduros, so 19 hp might be accurate. I am not a fan of the seat, but I am a fan of the large front tire on that bobber...

I did some googling on the GS250 clone and found another manufacturer that was using it in their bike and claimed over 20 HP.

I wonder if the tank on the Buccaneer is really 4.5 gallons.

I had a hope, a few years back, that the Skyteam Ace would be available in the US. Gave up on that. Looks like it's never going to happen.
As for these, I like both versions of the Buccaneer. As for the Snake Eyes, maybe. I'd like it better with the 250cc v-twin engine.
These bikes look good. But, if the v-twins come in anywhere near the price of the fine Yamaha Star 250, then I'd go with the Yamaha.

I agree that the Vstar 250 is probably a better choice but I like the SRT250B better.

EPA certification takes time--oftentimes, alot of time. I remember reading that SSR was having some trouble financially--cannot recall where, and it was months ago, so don't quote me, but that could also be a reason.

In other news, I am very happy to see the Suzuki Vanvan 200 is offered in the US; not Chinese (heck, could be, LOL), but I am a fan of large tired bikes, more so if they are Suzuki (as opposed to Yamaha).

Edit: SSR got '17 EPA certification for the Benelli TNT 600 https://www3.epa.gov/otaq/crttst.htm

Nope, it's 3.43 gallons. At least, for the fuel injected model imported by SSR. Which I just bought two weeks ago.
