    Vacuum lines!?

When this engine was designed, vacuum was not invented yet.

Seriously, would you be so kind to elaborate a bit more your problem?

The bike is a 2009 SSR lazer 5 moped has a honda horizontal clone engine it has a line comming from the head that goes to a air filter and has some hoses that go from the filter to a tube. i figured it was a vaccume line. The had been neglected and and the hoses have disentegreted so i dont know how to conect them

    Oooooh, thaaat...

    Don't bother.

This is thing for environmentally enlightened folks. I don't know is this system even marginally improves emission, but for sure nothing is gonna go south if you simply blank all the holes there and throw those rotten hoses into recycle bin.

It does not need it to run, only to cap it off, that is my interpretation.

Ha, with my English! That would be the day!

It is too much English words for me in one day.

Long story - short: those smog pumps, fume re-circulation systems and all the rest imaginable systems that, allegedly, decrease emissions, if they are in order, DO NOT improve or decrease engine performance (at least on our lil' horizontals).

It is not problem when those contraptions are somewhere on the exhaust system, but if they are in the intake system, on air filter, intake manifold... If some of those attached hoses cracks or slips off, that may infringe carb set up, cause engine overheating, dust to be sucked into engine, and few more problems.

So, I'm recommending you to remove this pipe from the head and simply blank this hole with some DIY coverlid, and also (if any) to stuck in something in this... outlet on the intake manifold. Don't forget to close holes on the air box too.

If you insist to put all where it was before, please submit some photos, so we can see which system you have there, in order to solve the puzzle.

You got the fuel line, then a line to drain the bowl and a vent line, the other line would be a vacuum line connected to the EGR, that would be on an extended piece off the neck to the manifold, it can be closed if the EGR is removed. You have a bent metal tube off the engine that connects to the EGR that feeds exhaust gas back into the engine.
The bowl drain has a screw that releases it, it dangles off the bowl.
The vent is located higher and with a bent brass connection it also dangle and is always open and clear it’s a breather.
Not every carb has vacuum lines, these types only have them for emissions, they open and close reed valves at certain pressure points.

Photos would help here, as well as try Google search/images for your brand (ssr) as well as whatever OEM it is and model name under the OEM (I believe Bashan is the OEM). There must be photos of the engine somewhere. Also, try youtube videos for both ssr and Bashan (again, if it is that). Since you live in San Diego, try to make your way to JP Motorsports as they are a SSR dealer (not sure if they carry/carried the Lazer, but I know they carry the XF250) and motorsports repair place. They probably would have the parts you need, and can probably simply show you what goes where saving you from paying for the repair. Have you tried contacting SSR? They are not too far up the freeway in Gardena (although it does not matter what part of the US they are); they should have some kind of diagram they can email you or point you to.

it should not be that complex,

vacuum lines suck, what are they sucking? The sucking is opening something, some have them opening a petcock, not for these the petcock is mechanical. I am pretty sure these use vacuum only for the EGR or SAI and they are not needed for it to run properly.
