06-16-2016, 09:33 AMI fear this won't be a genuinely new thread. I bought an Arrow 125 last December. It's been a disaster. Everything electrical has had to be replaced at least once. I'm currently waiting for my third set of switchgear, the indicator switch having failed again. Is there any non-Chinese substitute? I foolishly fell for the 200 quid off, free delivery ruse, which of course is nothing but a way for dealers to avoid labour costs under warranty. They have no faith in these machines themselves. My supplier, which I won't at this point name, is tying to wriggle out of sending me any more parts.
I need to be able to keep up with 50mph traffic, impossible without ragging the poor little thing to death. I can't hold the road, I have to pretend it's a pushbike and hug the kerb, and that's unsafe. Would a sprocket change make any difference?
Can the speedometer be recalibrated? Mine over-reads by between 20 and 40 mph.
Any advice gratefully received. I'm dependent on this bike until I get my full licence.
Thanks
Craig

06-16-2016, 10:10 AMThanks mate. I hadn't planned on derestricting, though. I'd like to stay legal. Craig

06-17-2016, 07:37 AMThat's kind, thanks. If necessary I'll see how much an entire Jap front end costs and get sprockets but I won't derestrict. All possibly academic, now. Dropped it last week (idiot marched out in front of me; pulled too much front brake in wet). Banged myself up a bit but had assumed damage to bike superficial. No. Will need forks, wheel, a bar, yokes, spindle, bearing, God knows what. Unsafe at the moment. Let's not talk about grades of steel. I'm praying it's a writeoff, and I can look for a safe bike of merchantable quality. Which means non-Chinese, natch. Or at least nothing branded Lexmoto. Maybe other Chinese makes exercise some kind of quality control, and don't use the absolute cheapest components and materials possible, but I can't see myself trusting them. Cheers.
