Even it's a 360 crank, there's a streetwise tirck from bike mechanic: Use jumper wire fed the splitted pluser singal to 2 idenctical "generic" DC-CDI https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=9597038946 (Old bike ALWAYS f***ed CDI's source power coil in stator)
Proper stuff exists but costs time to order...
It definitely has a two wire pulse sender, one blue white stripe, one green

    Options:
    1. Jumper trick ie. 2 dc CDI (u can try AC CDI but the result...)
    2. Proper CA250 (& clone) CDI (the exciter coil in stator needs in working order!!!)

The harness and coils are set up as in the CMX250CD schematics, with two b/y wires coming out of the CDI, one feeding each coil. Not one wire feeding both coils. So it looks like I need a CDI to suit the CMX 250 CD. Now I just need to find one.

Thanks for all your help. The new stator is putting out 33v AC, the old one was 38v AC, I've put in a new impulse sender as the old one was damaged. I've ordered two new coils, ex China, and I will probably order a Chinese 6 pin CDI AC and link the two coil feeds to the one output from the CDI. Someone told me that 33v AC is too low to fire up the CDI. What's your thoughts on 33v output whilst cranking. I'm determined to get this quad going, but it is doing my head in.

    General info for chonda:
[Energy] Source coil/ exciter... R/B >50V (>100V in morden Honda manual) Bypass w/ "DC-CDI" (Steady 200v all day long, no matter the rev) is a streetwise fix
    [When] Pickup/ trigger /pulser ... Bu/W >0.5V (>0.7V im morden Honda shop manual)

So does that mean, use a DC - CDI, replace the red/black wire from magneto to the CDI, with the black wire from the start key (12v). All other wires remain same.

Yup. CDI's +12v should be controlled by ign lock s/w (ie. NO current when off. Example: http://forum.jorsindo.com/thread-2294459-1-1.html
Some idiot machanic just can't learn... Can't s/w off, short battery life ... often heard when these thingy was new in market ...
