Suzuki GSX-R250 + DL250 V-strom

The DL 250 V-strom has been shown as a production model at EICMA with Kawasaki releasing the Versys-X 300 Urban and Adventure will be produced in Thailand so seeing it in 250 form for sure.

Zongshen seems to have awakened some sleeping giants! I could see how Zongshen was on the right track reading threads on Horizonsunlimited. Many people have written posts to the effect that they believe their big engine big brand bike was too much for many riding situations; i.e. one guy stated how he was in Morocco on his 1100 BMW and barely able to stay up while locals on 150cc bikes were zipping by him. S. America seems to be another place where small engine bikes are thought of to be better suited for the terrain. In the US, the long-held belief is that any bike HAS to be able to hum along on the vast interstate highway system and able to sustain 85 to 90 mph. On Horizons, foreign riders have long stated that for them, they prefer the back road highways, and didn't need monster engine bikes.

Well, along comes Zongshen doing what the Chinese do best (small engine bikes), and it turns into a game changer! Now look at all the competition!

On a sidenote--the Suzuki was a natural if you look at the site for their Chinese joint venture (forgot their name), and they show 3 different police models of the GW 250...if you squint, you can see the DL 250
