Oh man...crack heads on electric bikes in China...especially early in the mornings when everyone rides like they're drunk. I actually got nailed by one in the morning when I was riding a bicycle to class. Dude clipped me at full speed running around a corner on a slimey damp morning and then looked at me like it was my fault!

What I love is the cool boys who ride the electric bikes while checking themselves out in the side mirror and honking their little beepy horn at people as they wrecklessly swerve down the street. I reckon the swerving must give them more ways to appreciate their narcicism from different angles in the mirror.

There's a friend of ours who has actually nailed electric bikes twice since he started riding scooters in China a year ago. The first time it was someone zipping onto the main thoroughfare from a side road. Knocked him right onto his keister. He gave him 100 Kwai and went merrily on his way. The second time, and I saw it, he was going through an intersection with the right of way (HA!) and a woman just pretended she couldn't hear him honking his horn. He slammed on the brakes in a valiant effort to stop but still hit her hard enough to demolish the back of her electric bike and send her halfway across the intersection. I honestly thought he had broken his knee. When I finally got him to stop a half km later, he just shrugged it off. "Electric bikes are the devil" he said.

Yeah, I don't ride with that dude anymore
