17 June 2017, saw the official release of the new entry level Suzuki DL250 'V'-Strom adventure model in mainland Ch!na. The new small entry level version of the bigger V engined DL650 (affectionately know as wee-strom) and the big DL1000. There are two models, one with ABS and the other without ABS. Both models come fitted standard with side panniers and top box, and centre stand (yay). Pricing at 元29880 - 元31880 万29.88 万31.88 Depending on ABS variant or not.

Test rides have taken place since the release date in Beijing with some 100 test rides, with all test riders proclaiming the new DL250 as a winner and likely to do well in the local motorcycle sales market. Test riders have praised the new DL250 for the 'fast speed', comfort levels and fine craftmanship (fit and finish is my guess). The DL250 seemingly is seen as being better than the Suzuki GW250 variants and the GSX250 models. Although discussion centres around the GW250 quality as being the best of what Ch!na JV Haojue Suzuki motorcycle production is or has been capable of.

14 participants riding Haohue Suzuki GW250 travelled to Xinjiang, Tibet, and Thailand, which was a testament to the GW250 reliability as not one GW250 suffered any failures of issues. All those that started the ride, finished without incident.

Suzuki, mmmmm, equals quality, so very happy and glad they make such reasonable bike. The headlight is especially interesting, hope it gives good light and is not just for looks.

With a price tag in China of 31.800 rmb + tax + plate should end up on the road at 35.000 rmb ABS version and with a centre stand .And all ready to rock and roll 3 box's included.
    A sure winner .IMO.

Stylish bike, however the adventures are limited on a 250, that's been said before.

Maybe so MJH, but you might find it an interesting phenomenon to see just how many locals take their 125cc-150cc variants to the far and beyond in the longer vacation/holiday periods here in TIC... If Suzuki can force the local manufacturers and assemblers to up their game around quality of product, through the release of the lil' DL250 weennie strom, then that surely could only be a good thing, no?

The chinese market does currently not really needs hardcore adventure bikes with high off road/trail capability. This skills are still limited to a few people here IMO.
But people going cross country on partly unpaved roads and want comfort, good handling and of course luggage solutions.
Therefore I think the Baby Vstrom is a very good bike and will find lot of fans as the Zongshen RX3 got.

But even on that reasonable price tag it stays a dream for many Chinese riders. But at least its an achievable dream, latest when in 2 - 3 years a 2nd hand market develops

I agree that for solo travel in China a well made 250cc is suitable as long as you stay off the expressways. After 40k km on the GS in China my avg. Speed shows 63kmph which I'd quite high. And that is only because I blast sometimes over the expressway or 6th ring far exceeding speed limits.
To discover the country a cc range between 250 and 400 is definitely a good choice.
A CRF I would classify already real Enduro while a DL250 is a all road bike.
