07-31-2017, 04:19 PMZorge - no worries mate. I check my tyres every day and chain tension most days. Always wipe the bike down after wet rides too. Keep it covered at work with an Oxford bike cover. All helps.
Prince 666 - The good thing about tracking down the noise is that I took the bash plate off, cleaned the engine and checked all other nuts & bolts. Loctite will be used when I fit the replacement part. Also, it's good to know my dealer has the online parts manual ...but I just wish I had a copy of it, lol.

08-02-2017, 08:50 PMGreat link - thank you so much, Humanbeing :-)
It's part no. 16 that I ordered via my dealer - a rubber block that had fallen off. It holds the lower chain off the side stand bracket.

Hope to collect it on the weekend, fit it and post a photo.

08-06-2017, 03:24 PMThe missing part that fell off; a "Block Nether" - small white plastic block that bolts under the chain, on a bracket just above the side stand bracket. Easily fitted, after slacking off the chain a little. Can only be fitted one way. Screw to the rear with the white notch fitting into a hole at the front. Had to use open ended spanner as its at an angle so no way to use a socket. Cost me £6.00 inclusive of postage via my local bike shop. Mount Motorcycles, Port Talbot, S.Wales, UK.

1. Raised bike on blocks under the frame.
2. Slacked off rear axle bolt, the two lock nuts and then the two nuts for adjusting the chain.
3. Fitted new part
4. Bent the end of the bracket back up with a hammer and screwdriver - had to bend it down whilst waiting for new part to arrive, to avoid chain rubbing on it.
5. Adjusted chain and tightened axle nut.
6. Took it for a 6 mile run the re-adjusted the chain as it had slacked off a little.
Job done:-

Hope this helps someone in future :-)
LESSON: check all nuts are secure and tight on a weekly basis, as well as applying lube, checking tyres and chain etc.

Good report and fitting instruction, thanks for posting.
Bike now all up and running until the next part falls off.
Hopefully, now you have a better understanding of Chinese bike, and you have checked most item now? and prevention is better than a cure?"Arguing on the Internet is like running in the Special Olympics, even if you win you're still retarded"

Yes, learned a lot. Had zero problems with my previous bike over 3 years, my little Honda CB125F ...and a few issues in just 3 months with my Chinese bike. Good to learn, good to check weekly

Rubber?!!! I would suggest it's made from some strong & low friction plastic material. PTFE/ UHMW blocks is good candidate for those that can make something from scrath
