    HELP again, guys... CHAIN RATTLE
Heard a new rattle yesterday and just tracked it down to the chain - as it still happens when I cut the engine power, or free wheel in neutral. Seems I may have lost a rubber block below the chain but I'm guessing here. so I'm hoping someone can confirm.

Is there a rubber runner under the chain, mounted just above the spring of the side stand? I've put some blue tape on the metal thats now rubbing the chain, causing the rattle - see photo. It's stopped the rattle but obviously I can't ride it like this. SHOULD THERE BE A RUBBER BLOCK ON THERE (where I have the blue tape)?

My guess is yes, and that It's fallen off...

Thanks Mollami. I know of someone who has the exact same bike so I'll email him and call him tomorrow.
It could just be a slack chain, but it still shouldn't rub on metal...

I'll update this post anyway, just for others to reference in the future.

Adjust proper chain slack and rattle should stop.

If you are the one who doesn't like to gape every day what you need to do with your bike, installing some chain tensioner (check on Aliexpress) would solve this rattling problem practically, for good.

    UPDATE: not fixed.

Called dealer, who said tighten chain. Chain tightened and still rubbing metal, making clanking sound - taking it to dealer now. No other option than to ride 15 miles with metal on metal.! Not happy. Will report back.

From the picture of the Chain slides there look a bit short to me?
Try to find some other type that fits and are longer

UPDATE: dealer looked at their online manual and found a chain guide has fallen off. Ordered one up for me, at £5.00GDP + postage, due to arrive in a few days - I'll post a pic for future reference.

In the meantime, as a short term fix, I've bent back the metal bracket which the missing chain guide bolts on to, so it doesn't catch the chain. Greased and tightened the chain and riding it gently :-)

What, I made mistake? My English is pretty bad, so let me rephrase - if you are the one who doesn't keep track everyday of the chain state.

    Hi Mark

You will find with most of the cheap end bikes made in China that you need to check ALL the bolts and use some Loctite.
Very common thing and we hear it all the time here on MCM.
Happy you have sorted it out, just go out tomorrow and check the bike over for other fallen or losses items.
