05-09-2009, 01:22 AMI've been looking at online catalogs (Shineray, Zongshen, etc.), checking out the specs on various models. How accurate are the specs in general?
For example, if you look at the English Shineray catalog, the 150GY-B has dimensions of 2080x830x1240, but the Chinese catalog lists them as 2120x820x1155. All the other specs differ, too.

I'm mostly interested in power, and seat height.

There's likely no clear answer to that question for a couple reasons. One is just poor or inconsistent measurment and the other is bikes made for export will sometimes have been produced to slighlty different specs to meet target market needs.
Seat height can depend on a lot of factors from shock length to saddle thickness. Engine power can also fluctuate due to emission standards for example. I usually consider the specs to be ballpark figures and other countrys companies have similar problems with this as well.
I think all this means is "Try before you buy".
