Yes, I am sure it is, but I could be wrong.
Mr BikerDoc on here would know for sure.
And he has one in Thailand.

A great bike which is made in Thailand.
You will not get a better bike for the money in China.
Most rental companies have them to rent in Thailand.

I can confirm that the CB500X is available legally in the middle kingdo0m. Price is north of 70k.
The bike was displayed on the official Honda China importers website as of last week. I happened to be checking their website as I was interested in the Africa Twin pricing since Prince666 scored himself a DCT version in the land of smiles. Lucky bugger, especially since the AT (in the land of smiles) cost less than half the price expected in the middle kingdo0m.

Apologies ChinaV, my choice of wording may have given you room to pause or lead to some confusion?
To clarify, Honda Thailand priced the Africa Twin very competitive, almost half the price of the R1200GS MSRP.
The Honda Africa Twin DCT MSRP Thailand 580,000 THB (~116,000 CNY)
The Honda Africa Twin DCT MSRP China: 230,000 CNY (~1,150,000 THB)
Substantial difference... With the AT costing less than half the cost in the land of smiles compared with the middle kingdo0m

Thanks for clarifying... $35,000 USD for the AT in China is insane, the Thai price of $18,000 USD is much more realistic. Can you bring the Thai plated bike across the border?

Working on it but it looks like I can't.
That would be my dream, cheap AT and be able to ride it in China.
Dream on is the term to use.
So, for now, it's only for me to ride the bike in Thailand and all other country but not including China .

To clarify and bring some context to Prine666's reply, a Thai plated bike can be taken overland across territorial borders e.g. Malaysia, Laos et al. When it comes to riding a Thai plated bike overland through the Chinese land border, then the status quo applies; yes if the applicable prearranged and pre-approved travel/escort guide, itinerary, insurance etc has been sorted. Otherwise, it's a no.
