Not available, and also no indication if its coming. Would be great and my immediate buy as I consider my SWM RS500R as a lightweight favorite.

After nearly 5000 km riding on my AT (DCT) in Thailand, would I put it at number 1 NO?

Great bike but not a great ADV bike IMO.
From the list on the video, the one to watch is the new KTM 790 ADV.

These bikes are obviously lush but I doubt I'd be able to chuck them around much less afford them (atm). Actually I'm in a quandary re. motorcycling in general or maybe it's just motorcycling in China.

Never get stuck on the bike, it's about the journey. Some of my greatest trips were on very simple motorcycles. The owner of the site, CrazyCarl, opened my eyes to small Chinese bikes on our first trip together... pretty epic stuff on QingQi QM200's.

You know I own a Chinese dirt bike:) 300cc , well enduro..

The great thing about not being able to register a bike in Shanghai is that I'll be forced on to bigger greener pastures... Yes, I've read Both you two's older ride reports... Smashing stuff.

Let's think, how much is the 沪C now, ¥90,000? Think I'll ask at the 车所管 tomorrow. Again, good news as it will probably force me to go back to Blighty and experience motorcycling in my own magical isle and further.. Into Europe.

Just move to an area where you can own and plate a Motorbike easy.
Then ride all over China till your heart is contented.
It's not rocket sciences.

It's not rocket science, but maybe I'm fick or sumfing, .... so any other place than Shanghai, arrange an address there and residence permit in that place of course with accompanying visa and reason for being there- work or study... then Bingo

I spent the afternoon at the 车管所(cheguansuo ) - the traffic police , license place and plate getting location in Shanghai... lot's of "不可能s" today- can't get a 户C for a Beijing registered bike- referred to a second hand car dealership in Putuo to be told the same thing.

Police lady, " what it is right, is that there are no more Shanghai number plates, so you'd have to buy an old bike with a plate already attached, buy a new bike , then make the first (old) one disappear into thin air then you're good, got it?" hahahahahaha
