for the Past 4 years, I have loved riding during CNY in Shanghai because the streets are empty and the highways can (by force) by used. I would pass police cars on the highway and they would wave... Anyone else had this experience?

This year though I am thinking to keep a low profile. My wife says last week she saw at least 4 intersection blocks baggin and taggin any two wheeler including electrics on different days. Sounds like them days are over...

I think you need to read a book by H.G.Wells?

During CNY, many Chinese people need to get home on the world's biggest human migration. With no tickets or low funds, this leaves many to ride their motorcycles cross-country. They take their MCs back to their home towns and waiting family. Like riding home for Christmas.

I've seen Chinese news reports and a foreign documentary on these travellers. Apparently the police open up the highways and there are even soup kitchens giving free food along the way. These pit stops provide free hot food to the horde of MC travellers. I thought it would be a cool idea to document this. To ride with them.
