    Hello all,

Happy to be a part of the community and learn more about my engine, etc.

Specifically, I am interested to learn more about the history of the CG model line. As several have mentioned, there is a lot of great information on the CG series on this site:

    https://world.honda.com/history/chal...125/index.html

This covers the original Honda or Honda-licensed manufacturers quite well. The engine is identified as 167FMM. There are versions with and without balance shafts in several displacements including 125cc, 150cc, and 250cc.

What I can't seem to find is:

    A) Any information about when the engine was increased to 250cc (229cc)

    B) When the balance shaft was added by most of the Chinese manufacturers. It seems like this must have been a big improvement based on the fact that the balance shaft version seems to be the most common (at least in my experience).

If anyone has any information, anecdotal or that I have missed here on MCM, I be very interested to learn more about the history of these engines.

    Thanks in advance!

Welcome to here! You will probably want to join chinariders.net as far as general maintenance and repairs--Chinariders is a North American oriented site which generally features bikes not found in other parts of the world and vice-versa, like this site.
