Hi
During bottom end rebuid of second engine i noticed that the center gasket had a cut behind the oil filter screen place.

I remember my first engine rebuild there was no such cut as shown in this picture. This is pictures of same engine same gasket only it had cut marks but the paper was still not removed from the gasket which I noticed and removed afterwards and took another picture of it.

Which is correct. What could be the issue of I continue using that engine that doesn't had a cut in the center gasket there?
