11-12-2014, 06:59 PMMy 2 Chinese bikes, 2005 Roketa (Zongshen) and 2007 Lifan. The Lifan has over 50,000 miles on it. The Roketa just 600 miles. My daughter has claimed the Roketa.

Nice bike! I have always like the Qingqi bikes, especially as they broke the trend and copied Suzuki instead of copying Honda. I always laugh at the large 'L' they make you new bikers put on--not laughing at the 'L' or you new bikers, but apparently the government feels that other drivers will look out for you which I am quite sure they do not!

Yeah the L plates aren't great. I'm not even a 'new' biker, I just haven't done my full test. I've been riding on and off for years on a CBT and just renewing that any time it expired

I had been riding on a permit on and off here in the state of Arizona (every US state issues licenses for that particular state) until I finally took the test two years ago and became fully licensed. A quicker and far superior way I could have obtained my license was to go through a MSF, Motorcycle Safety Foundation, riding course. I think it takes two days of learning and doing riding skills, and then once you complete the course, you are able to take the completion certificate and walk it to your state's motor vehicle office for a full license.
They offer advanced courses for people who have their license, and I might just take that still! How long does the 'L' plate stay with you? Once you complete your time, are you now able to buy a bigger displacement bike?

Essentially the CBT, Compulsory Basic Training, allows you to ride a small bike on L plates for 2 years. Then you either have to redo the CBT for another 2 years or take your full test. Yoy only get to ride without L plates once you take your full test

Your full test is probably a lot more difficult and comprhensive than our full test!
