    None of these operations are doing very well, they seem to be consolidating with Keeway?

    The name Qlink should really go away and over time, my suggestion.

    QBK stands for Qlink Benelli Keeway and in that very short sighted.

    What truly could happen is that of marketing differentiation and on each of the manufacturers brand names.
    In that they should only offer what they can contractually negotiate the exclusive rights of in the market. In that they would be a distribution company and manage all the brand names into the market and to a common dealer network that they build.

    Qingi, Benelli, Keeway, Shineray, Jiajue....

    What needs to happen is a linked system to each factory and under contract, the factory should embrace that and offer support of it.

    The beauty of such a system is in the economy of scale, the more they offer in brands the more they can sell and the more they sell they bigger they can grow.

    In such a business model they can provide feedback to the factory and the factory can monitor the market.

    If such a system was in place then bikes like the X5 could be imported as wall as the 250cc sport bikes and even the new 400cc XY400 through a link with Shineray why bother with re-branding? In such a system they would work with the factory and as an exclusive distributor. But for more then one factory and for each they sell under the factory brand name.

    We as consumer do not need to see QBK, we should see separated websites that detail the manufacturers brand and what they offer in the market.

    Qingqi America
    Shineray America
    each one having its own advertising and being able to launch new models through it.

    Even though all the imports are managed through one agent that being QBK Motors, they manufacturers brand is retained and the distribution cost and dealer inventory supported through one source.

    Obviously there are models like the BJ600, 300 and 250 that can be offered in the USA, they do not and should not be brought to the market through any advertising method other then a Benelli website. They should not be sold next to other manufacturers brand with and made up brand name.

    In the USA they need to actually hire some professionals and in that present the proposals to the factories.

    The beauty of consolidated distribution is that it reduces operating costs. What the factories have to realize is that they need to build name recognition overtime in the market, in that small well manged offerings each year can grow. Offering multiple brands through a a single source makes it easier for dealers, but to attract dealers they have to be very very responsible and accountable.

    Getting the exclusive rights for the imports is a matter of impressing the OEM and if they cannot provide the exclusive rights for the import and sales in the market then find only those that will.

    They obviously do not have the resources, they need to sell the services to the factory apposed to being customers to the factory. In that they need to have factories that embrace the market as a challenge. They must realize that sharing distribution and dealers with other brands is cost effective.

    They should be able to provide model lines for each year and in that try to grow a dealer network. They can grow each year and try new offerings.

    Keeway has not updated it website since 2008? Qlink not since 2011.…


    They cannot and do not, either of them have any real dealer network. Personally I would not allow any dealers that did not carry at least one , preferably at least two major brands. Like only a Kawasaki, Honda or Yamaha dealer.


    But their approach to the market will not get many, they had a few and likely lost them.


    Unfortunately they have to be capitalized and without a real well polished business model and also great incentive packages to dealers they never likely will.


    I would say that being all polished up and professional requires that the factories align on the distributor and work with distribution in order to make it succeed. However unfortunate in that is the lack of logic and reason, it be really sad if they ever get the capital backing and not with the right business model to succeed.


    What we should be seeing is a Benelli line, but it may be a couple years too early for that.


    They could try building a dealer network form the ground up and support it through consolidation of brands.

    That be about building structures, operations that are retail centers If they cannot demonstrate success in the market they should consider why and why trying, are they then selling a dream that is unattainable to others?


    The goal would be creating a pipeline of new offerings into retail outlets that are in the best locations. However in doing that they would have to be super aware and super on top of what they are doing.
    Because success would be imperative. Success in selling would be what they can use to establish independent dealers. But in this business selling into failure brings about failure. Which means you have to offer more and for less and be the best at supporting it….


    The manufacturers are not are they and it is them that is core in the business model. They have to back the venture and it is them that must guarantee what they sell.

    Dear MJH,

    Excellent 30,000 foot analysis, as ever. So why don't you do this project? I remember a year or two ago you were talking about some big center (in Cleveland?) that could centralize and launch such an operation? Not for the faint of heart, mind you. But there are no signs of any Chinese manufacturer getting their shit together -- entering the "logic and reason zone" -- any time soon. How's it working out for that bobber outfit that's tried to take on responsibility for all the stuff their Chinese supplier can't be bothered to do, like marketing, design, branding, quality control, inventory control, etc.

    That idea is not really about power sports as it is about North American corporate centers for Chinese manufacturers. Centers of research and development, marketing and distribution. Linked in through an International College for Global Business. A think tank as an economic engine?


    They allowed gaming in the state of Ohio, in that it generates some public funds, I personally would like to see those funds leveraged into redeveloping adjacent land and building structures. Thistledown is one of the sites and directly across from the empty mall site. It is a very large site and Chinese investors could develop the site and in that gain citizenship in the USA. They call that an EB-5 Visa program.

    I am looking for top end parts for my Qlink 2008 XF 200 No one at QBK Motors will return my phone messages??? What is going on with this Co. and where can I find parts???

    Lets say you pull up to a dealer in big green covered flatbed tuck, with lots of red, green and white grahics you get out in green shop cloths.
    When you open up the truck inside is a BJ600, BN302, UNO C250, Motard 250 and a Factory 200.


    Everything is shiny Benelli green all the bikes tied securely in the truck with bright red straps, you are the sales VP and you brought a servicing VP with you and have all your ducks in a row.


    That is how you sell bikes in this country.


    In the factory you have a Certified Quality Control technocratic that enters the production runs into the information system, they insure that all technical document are ready and that all part systems are accurate. All of that is accessible online and your VP of Service demonstrates how you have the best state of the art system. Then the VP of sales show the manager of the dealership the available inventory and pricing. He is told you are our first choice and hope that you do not have to go to your second choice in the area.


    The only model these people are showing that is a Benelli is the PEPE…give me a break you throw those in for free to close the deal.

    What a great idea…lets destroy the Benelli name in the USA! That is what QBK will do.
