Ok so I've installed the 35 tooth sprocket, and as suspected, chain is too long. Rather than break the chain or add a tensioner, why not just buy a new chain?
Anybody know the size I should be looking for?

Why buy a new chain? Just break it to the right length. I am still running the stock chain at 5,000 miles. The chain is a 520.

Decided to just break it, much easier than I thought. Rides decent, Gearing ratio vastly improved, looks like i top out at about 62 mph GPS, sits happy at about 55. Reasonable, though i was really hoping to cruise at 65-70.
All this progress went down the drain when I shifted into 1st and bent my shift linkage, which later snapped off entirely at home. Everything is made of cast metal, the same hot wheels are made from. Which would be fine, if it didn't snap off under pressure similar to brittle plastic.

Anybody got a bolt up replacement at the click of a button?
I guess I'm being lazy here since I should just measure it myself and find something to work online

Truth be told I'm likely going to have it replaced under warranty, but I'm not looking forward to the 1-2 weeks of waiting involved, riding season ticks away.

Get the replacement cuz you'll have a hard time finding misc parts..
Until then 6mx1 left and right hand dies, ¼" Al is easily workable and should hold you over until getting a replacement. Make 2 carry the spare.

Consider the 30 tooth I've found it much more satisfying then the 35.
You can always downshift and at least downhill you might be a bit less queezy worrying the engines going to blow.

I just won this bike in a raffle for Ride For Kids so I am putting my 2012 DF up for sale.

Needs nothing, runs good, about 5,000 miles on it. Currently located in WNC and will be in SWFL in several weeks. Don't need four bikes.
Also want to sell my CT70 clone. Please pm me if you are interested.
