At the front of the paper magazine (where the editors, etc., are listed) is a website:

    www.bikemedia.cn

But I have never been able to make any sense of it. Sorry.

    Hi ShuBen,

Any update on the clutch problems with this bike? Has the problem returned or has it been smooth riding since?
I hope Shineray can get this bike in shape as I'd love to order one asap.
Another question for you: How did they ship it to you? Was it all in one piece or was there some minimal assembly required. Forgive my ignorance, as I've never had a bike shipped to me before? Also, how much was the shipping from Chongqing to BJ?
Finally, do you know if the bike is "GuoSan" (Can it be plated?) I heard that you opted for the carb version over the EFI version. I'm assuming that the carb version doesn't meet "GuoSan" specs.
Thanks and keep up the great review!

The Clutch problem is gone since I changed the oil to half synthetic 20W50. Works absolutely smooth now.
    For the other question:
    a) I had nothing to do with shipping, the bike dealer cared all of this
    b) The Carb version that I bought is at least in BJ OK to be plated. I have an A plate on it

One new thing I found out:
The gas tank has two connection possibilities for taps. when only one is installed the bike will not get enough fuel if the throttle is fully opened for few minutes. It starts sputtering.
First I thought it is a ignition problem, but then some nice guys from MCM gave me the right hint. Thanks.

I guess it has to do with the way they filter the fuel.
Inside the tank on top of the tap is a kind of porous ceramics pin where the fuel has to run through.

I guess it's a problem that can be resolved at a local shop, but still - it's annoying.

some bike porn from the way up to WeiChang (400km northeast of BJ)
    toWeiChang1.jpg

    toWeiChang3.jpg

TB-Racing, the German Rudi and myself had a overnight trip to WeiChang.
Nice road to get there through country side. Another way around planned back, but we end up with full 400km distance rain from 1st to last second.

The X5 did well. Only the chain seems to be made from cheap weak materials and gets longer and longer. In 2300km i readjusted the length 3 times already and after this tour its necessary again.
Any statements from the community? (Maybe I buy another one from Germany.)

very comon to stretch chains on a single that has some grunt to it my preivous bike I was adjusting it most weeks as it would stretch from how quickly the torque came into action on it, would advise Renthal chain they are good quality but do come at a price.

The more I read this post, the more I want an x5! It's looking like a great option for China.
Also did you get the issue with the tank worked out? Or was it just a matter of discovery with those taps. To be clear, you have them both connected and they are currently not presenting a problem?
