I owned a 1984 VT500 Ascot from Honda a couple of years ago. I am very intrigued by the 2013 CB500 because my old bike...I can only imagine how much better this one is based on years of improvement (yes I know that we have not had consistent standard 500 Hondas in the US). The price point is what is really grabbing me, especially as what the Suzuki SV 650 costs now (I think the name changed), even though I am partial to Suzuki. I am very interested in the CRF 250L, but this CB would work much better for my commute.

They still have not put a price on the X version...

The R version is $400.00 more then the F, the X will certainly be priced over $6k.

Honda established U.S. operations based on a relatively simple idea: To succeed in the U.S. is to succeed worldwide. The idea led to a history-changing event in 1959, when a handful of Honda associates began selling motorcycles out of a small storefront on Pico Boulevard in Los Angeles, California. Fifty years later, Honda's American operations have experienced astounding growth:

    • From a single office to operations in all 50 U.S. states
    • From eight sales associates to nearly 28,000 direct employees and 100,000 American employed through dealerships
    • From $250,000 in initial capital investment to more than $12.1 billion today.

From importing three motorcycle models to manufacturing* more than 4 million products annually in the U.S., including 22 automotive models researched and developed in the U.S. since 1991.Honda credits its 50 years of success to its associates, business partners, dealers, and, most importantly, its customers. That's why the spirit of Honda's 50th Anniversary observance is one of gratitude — thanking customers for the trust they have placed in Honda, renewing efforts to exceed their expectations the future, and showing appreciation to all business partners and associates.
Learn more about Honda in America in this report and thanks for 50 years of American dreams!
*Using domestic and globally sourced parts.

Me to. Especially X version... until I compared the prices and saw that the NX 700 is only slightly more expensive than CB 500.

About the horrid copies. I think Honda should play carrot and stick with these companies. Sue the ass out of them when they export unlicensed copies, but offer them dated designs to cheaply license.
