I use the one on the bottom left side of the motor. It's a big chrome bolt, comes out with a spring and screen filter behind it. About 2 qts of fluid will drain from here. The manual says it needs 900ml (almost 1 qt.)

It looks like there's another drain plug underneath the motor. Seen from the right side, it looks more like these magnetic plugs you guys are using. If that's the one you're using how much fluid are you draining out?

I'd like to follow up with the "stupid question". I did my first oil change last night, I used the same bolt Gardo did in his video on the underside of the engine. I could not find one on the left side with the spring/screen filter as mentioned, however my wife tells me I can't find shit even if its under my nose, so do you think one of you kind fellas could take a pic and point it out? Maybe it's not on the 2011? Am I missing anything by not pulling that bolt as well? I did drain a full quart out. I also put a quart back in.

The chinglish manual was of no help for this process, it made no mention of amounts to put in, or where to drop oil from, just that they use 15W40 for the initial fill, then you should use what's best in your climate (I just stuck with 15W40).

I use the chrome screw on the bottom of the engine case, and fill one quart. I am using Bel Ray's "EXS" full synthetic oil. I can really see the difference in shifting between standard and synthetic oils. PIT is reccomending another brand, but it is synthetic also. I have a megnetic drain plug and hightly reccomend them.

I believe I used a Chevron oil. I may need to look into some of these synthetics, being in a small town they supply was somewhat limited, especially in a 15W40

Just to clarify, is there any type of oil filter that needs changed/cleaned that I should look into, or is it just a matter of changing the oil out every 2000KM (after the first 500 and 1,000)

There's no traditional oil filter, but there is a screen to clean out. It lives behind the chrome bolt, which is just under the left side engine case.

I use the B&G Sheer power, need to do another oil change tonight, the screen is behind a largish on the under side of the motor more towards the left. use carb cleaner to blow it out.

After cleaning off metal bits that were circulating in the oil. Next oil change showed very little metal but still some. Also handy to have if suddenly you start having metal bits appear in the future.

So what exactly is the mystery Weaver carb mod? And I'm hearing that the Weaver mods to the carb and the cylinder head are a must. Anyone know if I can get these done on my Heist before it's shipped to my local shop or does Weaver do these all as aftermarket custom jobs?

Thanks Gardo. Did you have him mill and polish the head on your bike like the landshark (aka p40 mantis) or just do the carb?

He's doing a head for me but the bike only has the new carb right now, didnt have time to wait for it before my trip to Americade

I confirmed with PIT Motors that you can have a bike outfitted with the Carb, exhaust and Engine work and shipped "Ready to Rock!". Weaver/PIT also have a line of military themed bikes that use this same protocol. If your local dealer cannot hook you up, have them call PIT Motors to work it out. If you DO NOT have a local dealer, I can hook you up, and would be happy to do so.

I have a 2010 Heist COMPLETELY STOCK, and a 2011 with the weaver carb and exhaust. The bikes are night and day different. I wish I could tell you that the upgrades increased speed, but I have major reservations stating that. Gardo also has a 2010 model. His bike would do alomst 80mph stock. My 2010 will barely get to 60mph. My 2011 bike hits 80 easily, and did stock. The carb and exhaust mod have made the bike run smoother, cleaner, and I believe cooler. It's also LOUD AS SHIT!(Love it...) but I did not get any extra speed out of the carb/exhaust mods. I did install the carb/exhaust on the 2010 bike and rode it for a week. I had major vapor-lock issues on the 2010 bike and had to run with the gas cap loose, and I eventually I replaced the tank. The 2010 bike ran better with the mods, but no extra speed.

I have not had the engine mods done as of yet, but I have my personal bike up sor sale, and when it sells, I already have the quote ready for a new bike from PIT with all of the Weaver Mods pre-installed.

Bought my bike today, pick it up Friday! Magnetic drain plug in the mail, new battery charger all set up in the garage, helmet, gloves, jacket, and boots anxiousley awaiting use. I'm stoked!

Finally got out for a few 20 mile runs. I don't know how you guys are hitting 70 on this thing. I'm winding through the gears and the speedo barely goes past 40. First gear is pretty much useless, may have to look into the sprocket thing. I know I'm going faster than that so the speedo has to be way off. Still breaking her in so. . . I've got the Weaver carb and pipe mods. This thing purrs at idle but it's loud as shit when you wind her up. She seems to be running on the fat/rich side, does not need a choke at all. Definatedly need to mess with the seat and get some new bars. I have some new toys coming in next week. All in all it's fun as hell to blast around town with.

Had a guy pull up next to me on big bad HD and I couldn't get the guy to stop talking. Wow man that thing is sweet! Nice hardtail, who makes it! Etc. We rode for a few blocks together until I peeled off. I think Barnone mentioned it's a magnet for old dudes haha!

You might be going through the gears to quick, you should be just getting in to 4th at 40 mph.

How does the engine sound when you are pinned, is it clean, or can you hear it "missing" or slipping?

KTM, no pinging or missing. Clutch isn't slipping. The speedo gets just above 40mph and seems to stop. Don't know if it's broken. I've ridden a lot of other bikes, the sense of speed is there it's just not showing on the speedo.

I need to do a run with my brother and have him follow or drive beside me to check out my speed. She's not broken in yet so I don't want to go full thottle just yet. I find myself in 4th gear on our 40mph backroads.

Anyway what type of gas are you guys running, regular, high test?

Good idea with the ride along. I run Super Unleaded and Synthetic Oil. I am using Bel-Ray EXP Synthetic.

JK3 - Check your cable dude. Make sure there's no kinks or bends. Check that it's tightly screwed on both ends and squirt some bicycle cable lube in it while you're there.

I replaced my speedo with a plain MPH unit. $40 and works perfect. I used a 2240:60 ratio, seems right on.

there definitely seems a speedo issue or cable, either way give weaver a call.

i used nothing but super 93, with the compression I get on my bike reg makes it run rough. i also use the B&G sheer power did an oil change yesterday . Even with all the hard riding i was doing the B&G was still a pretty purple color, had some metal on the plug but thats expected with wearing her in.

I don't understand why you say you have high compression when it turns out that you don't have the milled head. How have you increased the compression on your FMM167 engine? Changing the carburetor to Weaver's top secret one will not change the compression ratio of you engine.
The engine should run just fine on 87 octane (regular) unless the compression ratio has been increased.

The proof is in the numbers Weaver has checked my bike 3 separate times and the numbers were always high. Not sure why but it explains why my Widow moves

Are you saying that your engine has higher compression for some unknown reason? What compression ratio is Weaver getting when testing your engine? How is he testing your engine? Is your engine badly carboned up from running too rich?
