I did 600 miles in a day on my Heist, all of it on 95S. 100 - 115miles at a clip for fuel stops
Just completed a run down to Daytona on my Heist 3000 mile round trip
Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
I just stumbled across this thread and I'm glad I did. My brother just got out of MMI and I'm looking for a kit bike project for him to work on. Basically something we can buy for around $2K, build and resell for $5K. I was looking at the Hardknock Bobbers (DF250RTB) and I'm seeing several complaints about the quality and the legality of the bike, people who are getting turned down at their DMV/RMVs, etc. Does anyone know of a similar kit bike like the Kikker 5150 or The Heist Bobber 250? I'd like to purchase a kit that's of good quality and won't give me problems at the DMV once assembled.
Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
The DF250RTB is a good bike right out of the crate. A few changes like the rear sprocket, removing the air injector. and you are good to go. Expecting a 110 percent returm on it, good luck. But why would you want to. I'm not that hungry. Buy some beans.
Suck it down..:confused1:
I don't think you can get that kinda turn around. good luck with that.

Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
Thanks, ghost1133. Good info. I think you may be right about the turnaround but my bro would certainly throw some customization into it that could add value. Is there a post somewhere that references all the tweaks that typically would go into refining this bike? Your notes on the rear sprocket and air injector are good. What would you recommend replacing them with?
Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
Also, where would you recommend this bike be purchased?
I've also be reading that some states are rejecting registrations? Do you know if Massachusetts has any problems with this bike? From what I understand I may need a Certificate of Origin for the transmission, motor, and frame and every receipt for every part that goes into it.
