Maybe. I changed my rear sprocket to one with 4 less teeth and can go 55mph at lower revs; makes for more comfortable ride.

It's the same as gears on a bicycle. Smaller gear in the back OR larger gear in the front will mean lower revs at any given speed. Your bike and current setup will dicate what's the best route to go. Most common is, of course, changing the rear sprocket/gear. Sometimes the front one is easier though so it really depends.

Although I won't be "riding" the Qlink until next spring. It's about 15 degrees here in Michigan and the bike is in Maine. Thanks Carl for this forum; lots of good talk and info.
Where are you in Michigan nedlin? I'm in the Grand Rapids area. I have the XF200 also.
We are visiting in A2 for a week or so. I noticed an '85 Honda Nighhawk for sale near you on craigslist.
Searching Ebay, it appears there is a 16 tooth sprocket available for the 428 pitch chain, it is offered as a replacement part for the Sinnis Apache QM 125 GY
428-16T
Thanks Sprocket; lots of good detailed info on rpm/mph ratios with different sprocket setups.
Thankyou for saying thank you, but it is misaimed, for it was Forchetto who supplied the links to the websites where you found the ratios useful.
I have since found out in addition to the 16t sprocket on ebay, the distributor Tor Moto (uk) are also telling me they also supply a 16t sprocket which will fit the GY machines.

Hi i just read your thread which is what i been looking for, but could you tell me if the rear sprocket information for the 200 will fit a pulse adrenaline 08 model? and out of interest will most parts be the same i.e chain, front sprocket ...i only ask because most useful info i have found from this forum has been based on 200's and not 125's. One last thing, you have stated that alot of parts that fit certain suzuki models can replace the parts i am looking for....mainly chain & sprocket but i also need rear brake shoes. Basically i would prefer to replace all these parts and pay the extra with the knowledge that they are made by and for suzuki and therefore not need replacing so quickly. Your help will be great. Cheers. D
hi dan i my self have a Sinnis Apache (qinqgi) (uk model) but has a 200cc fitted from what i have found that lots of parts ie foot brake pedal, tool box ,sprocket and other parts are based on a Suzuki dr200 1998 model i ordered a speedo cable and the rubber that connects the carb to filter housing from Suzuki also the rear sprocket i ordered was also Suzuki the model listed on her any chain that has a 428 pitch and 134link will work on yours
Thanks for the quick reply, could you give me any info on replacement brake shoes and front pads. Again a well known manufacturer would be preferred. Rear brake has been a constant issue, and now is unusable just locks the wheel, had it cleaned and scratched but still no good. While i got the rear wheel off for sprocket and chain may aswell sort the lot! Just need to get a list together of parts to order. Thanks again. D
hi i found this to be about best you can buy http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DID-428-gold-h...2#ht_500wt_956
and as for great value try this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GOLD-CHAIN-428...#ht_1345wt_939
i must say i never had a problem with the rear brake sounds to me that the springs inside on the shoes could be at fault or there a warp in the liner
as for brake shoes and pads im not sure but the suzuki dr200 or pos dr125 may be same shoes as most of the bike uses dr200 bits
thanks will order the chain tommorow. As for shoes i will get them checked out as my mechanical knowledge is zero! thanks for the help.....great site for me and even better forum!
no problem dan i still learning things on here to i have been a motor mechanic for 12 years so that helps me loads
Thanks to all of you, I have just ordered the 16T sprocket from Sprocket Specialists part#550-16, for my 08 Qlink XP200, it was $35.02 with shipping. I will let you know how things go. Thanks for all your great advice. :taz:
How much of a gain in cruising speed and or reduction in rpms can someone expect if they swapped out the front 15t for this 16t, while leaving the rear sprocket stock? Also how much of a loss in torque? Is the bike going to be still plenty capable off road with the 16t?
Not sure as I just put the new 16T sprocket on yesterday, had to do my 1,000KM maintenance, it was not hard and the only reason I removed the rear wheel was to clean out and check the brakes. I will let you know tomorrow. I can run about 55mph without pushing it hard right now about 8,000rpms up hill. My drive to work is mostly hills. :taz:
Hey just rode in after changing out the 15T with a 16T. I was not able to get a good ride in as traffic was slow this morning. I was able to start out around 55mph at 7,000rpm headed up the hills and around 6,500rpms down, my drive is all hills. This was a great improvement from before at 55mph pushing 8,000rpm up hill. I had no problems maintaining the speed going uphill and could have even ran faster, if the traffic was good. I hope to get it out today on some flat roads and maybe do some trails.
I can’t wait to add a new exhaust to it. I know some of you have been talking about the XIAN Racing P&P Can; I click the link but was unable to get to it. I have also been looking for a aftermarket slip-on for the DR200, but have had no luck. Could one of you guide me in the right direction? Thanks :taz:
I think I'll go ahead and order that 16t today.
Also this is the Xian P&P racing can here. Just ordered one but its not here yet but I did confirm from seller that it is the Xian P&P.

Thanks for the link, let me know how the Gy6 50cc Exhaust works out, I will order one if it works out for you. thanks again. :taz:
guys, guys, enough with the blue text already! you trying to make everyone go blind??
No I am not trying to make you go blind, but there are better ways to address your issues with blue text!!!!:taz:
I see that you are sometimes from Northern Cal, what part??
Though I've lived in China for 20 years, I still identify with Sonoma and Mendocino counties and someday will try to spend at least part of my year in residence there. I have a house in Santa Rosa, but have never lived in it, and my family has some coastal land above Elk, just south of the mouth of the Navarro River. Absolutely the world's greatest country for motorcycling and bicycling and many other activities.
cheers!
With all the discussion on Chains at the begining of this thread no one even mentions how many links are in the 428 chain (QLINK) Anyone know?
Actually the very first post has that info.
134 links of 428 chain, sprockets 15/48
Good one Zugzug! Hi and welcome.
