Sucks for me who just ordered a Z250 for over 40K, but it's ok, I still like better the Z250's style (not sure about specs tho) and I'm in a hurry to get a new bike.
No need to go just yet as I just come back from the expected location of the shop and there's no possible access, it's after the Carrefour on Huqingping, there's a Holyday Inn just next.
PS: there's a nice BMW shop just south of Joymotor which has the new F 800 GS which is a regal for the eyes, and tons of R 1200 GS (dunno if the Adventure model is available), I didn't ask for no price cause the sales girl was pretty and I didn't want her to see me cry).

I read on that Moto8 page one of the posters said there was a Chinese made KTM 390 Duke on the floor of the dealer. My Mandarin is poor very poor and I don't believe everything that is quoted on the web. Plus i doubt there would be so much demand in China for both a 350exc and a 350 freeride.Be interesting riding that freeride down the tar with trials tyres.Plus the Chinese might get abit upset when they have done a couple of road trips and the tyres are gone(worn down).

The tariff rates into China out of India and Thailand are the same.
However what is coming out of India cost less, the manufacturing costs in India are lower then in Thailand.
Thailand and India have much higher import tariffs then China about 2x as much.
What is made in India historically did not sell well in China...until now.
If you see a model made in both India and Thailand and it is retailing for not much more then what it retails for in Thailand, then it likely was imported from India. Because of the high import prices in Thailand as in Brazil the domestic production raises the margins on profit, the Thai made sold in Thailand have high markups. They can import the lower cost units from India and sell them for close to what they sell for in Thailand and still make a profit on them.

CFMOTO can make some smaller bikes for KTM, obviously they think they can work with them. Maybe there are overseas Chinese, foreigners or T**wanese involved in the company, which might explain the difference. But seriously it's not a regular fries Chinese slapdash company. I've got one of their bikes, yes it runs hot, the fan wirrs half the time, some of the plastics, bolts and electrics are a bit rubbish, but it handles well, and is damn quick and doesn't rattle itself apart that much at least. Also they are actually spending money on R&D, proper money.
If you have a look at the reviews for the CFMOTO 650NK and TR you'll find they are pretty good. If you are in OZ you can book a test ride.
I think that there is list a mile long of manufactures that could make motorcycles that are better then that 390cc single if they could sell them for 8000.00 USD, seems to me that they could also do that profitably in a list of countries a mile long as well.
That looks like a bubble to me, the KTM advantage and disadvantage are its historically high retail prices.
It will be interesting to see how many 50k 390 they can sell in China.
Probably quite a few, being that about 390cc is an ideal size engine for China, especially for an Asian rider. They need to make sure they lower the seat though, with a 'no test ride' culture many purchase decisions are made from sitting on the bike in the showroom, which is why many Chinese bikes have pretty comfortable seats!Quote:
