Re: QingQi U-Zeal (轻骑 125-3B): Back to the Basics
I like the GS125, I would not change anything on it, except give it a 200cc engine two tone black and brushed metal. The rims could be kept alloy, but a modern style of them and in flat black, the star pattern looks to 80’s. A three spoke alloy rim would be best and black.

Re: QingQi U-Zeal (轻骑 125-3B): Back to the Basics
WOW, I thought the big bikes were somehow banned in 1990s...But then again I heard it from a friend of a friend of a friend who had a bike which was "claimed" by some police patrol somewhere sometime.
I think as Chinese economy is booming, Chinese customer will be more choosing. This shows in people buying Adidas over Li-Ning, Apple against Meizu and Buick over Chery. Chinese manufacturers will have to come up with something to keep up. And the government in its turn will have to come up with product (-s) that is attractive enough to keep cash flow inside the country. I think CFMoto and QianJiang/Benelli are just the beginning.

Re: QingQi U-Zeal (轻骑 125-3B): Back to the Basics
MJH, that bike looks very-very classic. 3-spoke alloys and 200cc would make it an ultimate commuter :)

Re: QingQi U-Zeal (轻骑 125-3B): Back to the Basics
IMO, to this 80's Suzuki, contemporary design wheels will fit as much as, 'scuse my French, tits to a chicken.

Re: QingQi U-Zeal (轻骑 125-3B): Back to the Basics
:) I could probably make a mock-up drawing, but am too lazy for that

OK, guys. This is getting cryptic.

Re: QingQi U-Zeal (轻骑 125-3B): Back to the Basics
I never thought I would ever have any positive feelings about designs that are from the 1980’s, the reason I like the GS125 is the cues that remind me of the CB750SC
http://i784.photobucket.com/albums/y...thawk-1984.jpg
That is what I vision when I look at the Suzuki GS125, I see a revised version that picks up some of the element of the Honda. I also see simply bigger and beefier, but not to the level of the 750, just more like it. (200cc and fatter tires)
These type rims would look better on the GS125

Come up with convincing story of why is essential that you need such a seat and contact "Somoto" again - http://www.somoto.cn/productshow.asp?id=145

Re: QingQi U-Zeal (轻骑 125-3B): Back to the Basics
Tuesday went for a Nanjing-Ma'anshan night ride. About 60km one way. The bike handled it all OK. No noises, no problems. The bars have proven comfortable. The only thing is those rear shock tuned to "the softest" aren't soft at all, which makes for a rather uncomfortable ride on a bumpy road.
All in all enjoyed the trip, the bike has 1000km on the clock now.

Re: QingQi U-Zeal (轻骑 125-3B): Back to the Basics
Which roads did you use? Next time, give me a call if you want a wingman. I will try and make it.

Re: QingQi U-Zeal (轻骑 125-3B): Back to the Basics
OK!
I used G-205 road, it's legal for the bikes to go on it. Starts off 长虹路, goes through 江宁, then through a small city called 梅山 and then straight to Ma'anshan.

You didn't feel the need for a windscreen?

Not really. The thing hardly breaks the sound speed barrier. Besides I have my full-face on, so it's OK.

Re: QingQi U-Zeal (轻骑 125-3B): Back to the Basics
So after a very short ownership time and 1000 km on the clock I sold the little QingQi to a random dude via 58.com website. Bye-bye QingQi, you need to grow up a bit.

Re: QingQi U-Zeal (轻骑 125-3B): Back to the Basics
I would like a CB223 or a version of the Suzuki Grass Tracker. The little Qingqi version with only a 125cc is not enough for me.

Damn Steve, you change bikes more often than yours socks.

Re: QingQi U-Zeal (轻骑 125-3B): Back to the Basics
MJH, that Honda looks sweets and is definitely the bike I'd love to own should it be legally available and plateable here in PRC. Grass Tracker looks cool too, but my heart's with the classic bikes :)
Zorge, true :) I call it "fun", my friends call it "a waste of money&effort", the doc calls it "a subliminal desire to change a sexual partner"

Re: QingQi U-Zeal (轻骑 125-3B): Back to the Basics
Many of us are never satisfied with the same all the time, it is not easy to keep it interesting.
So what is next? The GW250 is worth a test ride, not sure I would marry a fat one though.
-
Re: QingQi U-Zeal (轻骑 125-3B): Back to the Basics
I bet it is difficult to get test ride of a GW250, it being national icon and all.

Do not go that way - if sudarnya Stevehaltovskaya hears you, she'll cook aspic of your brain. :lol8:
I think I understand your decision: your Asiawing began to look like a real motorcycle and small Qingqi became excess.
-
Re: QingQi U-Zeal (轻骑 125-3B): Back to the Basics
Now what next... that's a hard question, that refers me back to that "help me choose a bike" thread I started a couple of months ago.
Actually, I still plan to sell my Asiawing and invest in a new bike.
As for GW 250, well, I rode it twice and I'm in 2 minds here. It's small. It is small, it feels small, it looks small. I look like a Grizzly on a moped riding it. And I still can't get it what's with 24000 price tag over 10800 for my wife's EN150 which is equally small and is twice as nimble in city traffic.
In a word, it feels like a lot of cash for very little bike.
That being said, it's a cool machine from the mechanical point of view: noiseless, handles OK, all the gauges work like they should and it feels a quality product.
Still I'm inclined on purchasing CFMoto's 650 NK because... well, honestly, don't know why. I like its design (the ugly headlight has a couple of nice replacement options) and the feeling on the road. It is small, smooth and has sweet power/weight ratio.
The final decision hasn't been made yet, though.

Re: QingQi U-Zeal (轻骑 125-3B): Back to the Basics
Steve,
I am going to be installing a set of Rox handlebar risers and an AirHawk seat I brought from the USA on my JH600 tomorrow. Feel free to come by and take the JH600 for spin if you want. You have my phone number.

Same style bike as the U-ZEAL, it just has a bigger frame.

PS. The fork sleeves make the front look more substantial…thicker, heavier and not so thin looking. Plus they actually protect the fork cylinders.
Hi,
I couldn't find this beauty on the wonjan website, maybe because it is in Chinese, which I don't speak. I think they are very beatiful. Do you know anything more about this bike? Make, type, tech specs ans such?
Regards
