tail end customs and Scotty of CCW both did Clip On and it looked sweet. I use the B&G Sheer Power Synthetic which is a 10 W 30 oil. I think the royal purple should be fine but I can check it out for you

If you could that'd be awesome! My buddy has 2qts of the royal purple 10w40 is why I ask. I figure if he's willing to let me just have it I will run it. Looked it up on their site and it says safe on wet clutch applications and good for air or liquid cooled bikes. So when I get my magnetic drain plug I can go ahead and do a quick change on some free oil. :) and I looked up those bikes. They do look good. I just don't know how it would feel to sit and ride one of these with the clip ons since it lowers the bars. That's my one concern
I have an aggressive riding stance, with my drag bars but the clip ons do look fun. Might be uncomfortable for long rides.
All you need is a quart for the bike BTW, and nothing usually beats free
I used 15w40 as recommended by the manual, seems to be doing just fine so far, but I've only done one change
My thoughts exactly on the oil :) and if I can find a used set of clip ons for a decent price id run them but definitely don't wanna pay 200+ for bars I might not enjoy.
Thanks for the input turner! Im definitely going to run it.
Hey everyone - this is my first post, but have been watching this thread. Just trying to finalize getting my ducks in row to pull the trigger on purchasing the Heist. I have a dealer who I've been in contact with and have been out to see the bike.
I'll probably have many questions since this my first motorcycle - haven't ridden with a clutch in almost 20 years, but have been scootering for the past 3. I have my M class (funny story how I got that) and I do plan on taking a MSF course, most likely after I get the bike.
As for mods - looks like the G and D exhaust is a must, but would I need the carb mod/jetted if I do the swap out? I can do 'minor' wrenching but that's about it. Maybe these would be some things I'd have done through PIT/Weaver prior to my dealer ordering? If any of you have done this please let me know. The exhaust looks like something I'd be able to handle on my own though.
At the same time, I don't want to get in over my head, so starting stock everything may not be a bad idea with my experience anyway.
Thanks - and I'll let you guys know when I finalize the process!
I have the G & D exhaust and have done no carb mods yet. I think you can get away without doing it without hurting anything. Occasionally I'll get a slight pop when shifting if I don't get the timing exact, but other than that I don't see the harm in letting it stay stock. I'm sure it'd run better with the modded carb, but I've got a honeymoon coming up, one thing at a time.
These bikes are super easy to get your feet wet on. I'd never been on a motorcycle, so I'm proud to say I learned to ride on one, it was much easier than I had ever imagined. In fact you will probably find this bike easier to move around than your scooter.
Good to know turner - thanks for the info!
Well I went down to my local dealer again today and talked to him for quiet awhile and he was very kind to once again answer all my questions and discuss what all we could do to one... I also told him about this website and he should be signing up soon to be a member here... He was also kind enough to take some pics of me sitting on one of his floor models... When I get everything squared away with HH6 I will be ordering mine through him because there are some options I want that do not come standard...
Here are the pics ( I'm 5'7" and 145lbs )
