Re: Sherpa, TRex, Roketa 124cc Street Bike MC-38??
I believe the Ice Bear bikes are produced in their own factory. Cannot remember the name of it, however. Skyteam USA is NOT the official importer of Skyteam bikes--the CT clones are currently imported by SSR, Pitster Pro, and Roketa (they have my favorite looks, btw), so them dropping them should in no way impact SSR, Pitster, etc. still carrying them. But, again, I believe the Ice Bear ones are their own clones. For selfish reasons, I hope you get the Ice Bear to report on their quality, since you will be the first one to get one (vs. various reports I have read here and there about Skyteam's bikes, as well as youtube videos, and the link that Birdmove put here). On the other hand, other than price, I couldn't imagine pulling the proverbial trigger on one over the proven Skyteam bikes.

Re: Sherpa, TRex, Roketa 124cc Street Bike MC-38??
Birdmove had posted this link on the thread he posted to one of the lowest prices I have seen for the Skyteams, and lower cost than any of the ICE BEAR CT clones:
http://powersportsbest.com/125cc-mot...-new-body.html
(my favorite color is the blue with black wheels, although the yellow with black wheels is a close second--these are the Roketa Skyteam bikes)
vs.
Ice Bear
http://www.motobuys.com/monkey-ib-championdax-l.html (this includes shipping, but I believe the Skyteam bike above is still lower cost when you include shipping)

$100 less at Power Sports Best when I included shipping. But good prices at either site. Good fuel capacity at 5.5L (1.45 gallons) on Sky Team. The Ice Bear claims .9 gallons (3.4 L). All taken with a grain of salt. Both bikes looks pretty much the same at a quick glance. Like the rack on the Ice Bear. Like the black on the Sky Team.

I had the Pitster Pro Classic CT70 clone several years ago and it was trouble free. It had the high front fender which allowed me to fit larger tires. Looks like these bikes have the larger tires.
I've given up trying to figure out who manufactures what. Does seem that the quality of these bikes is fine for me.

Re: Sherpa, TRex, Roketa 124cc Street Bike MC-38??
I like the Icebear a little better but Skyteam is a proven bike.
-
Re: Sherpa, TRex, Roketa 124cc Street Bike MC-38??
I have come to the conclusion that they are all made in the same factory then badged accordingly.

Re: Sherpa, TRex, Roketa 124cc Street Bike MC-38??
The frames could be made this way, trexuk. Kind of like how, at least in the US, there seems to be 4 or 5 brands of scooters whose models look identical. I bet these 'brands' buy their bikes as some kind of 'complete knock-down' or semi-knockdown kits and brand them.

There were 9 warning stickers on my Ice Bear sidecar rig.
If you look close you can see the last one on the carburetor float bowel to remind the owner to shut off the petcock.

Still waiting for the MSOs for the two monkey bikes. Don't know why they can't be send automatically.

I know in the past when mail-order bikes were getting more and more popular, and sites like chinariders and this site came out, that one explanation given was the fact that if they came together, if someone got hold of the bike and the MCO, they could fraudulently register and title the bike and one would have little to no recourse. Of course, you probably were asking why can't these mail order companies simply send them out via US mail once the bike ships (since obviously they wouldn't be using US mail to ship the bike)?

Re: Sherpa, TRex, Roketa 124cc Street Bike MC-38??
Seriously considering ordering one.Which of these two sellers would you guys order from?I think they are both the same. Barnone,I look forward to your input.I know you've bought a dozen or more of these China motos.

Both have the same price, currently.Quick shipping and receiving my MSO and documents to title with are what concern me.I wanna ride legally before winter sets in.I'll be bizzy this winter to drag everything out for winter riding.

You have that much winter in SC?:lol8:
Still haven't received my MSOs from the two different (?) retailers of my monkey bikes. What is so difficult about filling out and mailing a piece of paper? Suppose to auto ship but never happens.

Went ahead and ordered one of the CT70 clones in yellow from the first site that ben2go posted to round out my monkey bike collection.

Re: Hauling Garbage To The Dump
I really like the yellow! How much was shipping (I don't have the patience to add it to my 'cart' to figure it all out!)? Those are the Skyteam bikes that Roketa spec'd out and distributes. Those are some good prices, unless they charge like $400 for shipping (still reasonable overall). And hopefully they send out the MCO quicker!

Re: Hauling Garbage To The Dump
That is a good rate! These things have come down in price overall thanks to Roketa. The SSR versions were advertised here and there for about $1200 including shipping, but that was months ago. I do like the look of all the Roketas with the black wheels, so you got that bonus! Yellow is my favorite, but blue kind of draws me to it thanks to its nostalgic look. I know I have seen my absolute favorite color on Ice Bear's site--orange, but that is the factory site, so who knows what retailers have for sale (the one link to Motobuys only has basic colors for the Ice Bear). Anyway--eagerly await the reports of your newest toy...

That's awesome. You can be the test monkey on the ct70 clone again.I been reading some of your posts over on planetminis.Do you think you'll be jazzing this one up like the other one?Oh,and which link did you order from?I thought one was offering free delivery with tail gate service. That's something I am worried about.A big rig can't make it into my neighborhood.A smaller box truck can, just barely. All of our roads are one lane with hard 90 degree turns all going up hill coming in.

I'm gonna try and leave the monkey bikes somewhat stock. The two so far seem to be just fine.
Ordered from this one. https://www.powersportsmax.com
I have the delivery company call me and I meet the semi somewhere in town at a parking lot and we slide the crate off the semi onto my truck. Done that on all the deliveries. No way can they deliver to my cabin here in the mountains or to my house in Florida.
Rode the Dong Fang up to the Dragon (Deal's Gap) this morning for our breakfast meeting. She is running good.
Funny, in a parking lot filled with $20k+ bikes my DF gets the most attention. Most think it is an old restored bike.

Re: Hauling Garbage To The Dump
ben2go,
Just read through my PPC125 thread at http://planetminis.com/forums/chines...xperience.html
Thanks for reminding me of it, will help with the CT70 clone.
Gang,
Should I move the CT70 discussion to trexuk's CT70 tread?

Why not? Then we would probably hear more from trexuk, too, about his adventures on his Lifan 110 DAX.

It was right up here with this thread, until barnone started ordering up a whole bunch of bikes and getting alot of responses.
BTW, someone should steer the lonely guy on the end of barnone's planetminis thread to here--he posted the last post back in April of this year, and shows a pretty 'slick' looking CT clone (or real one)

I did a search using trexuk as the poster and found it.

So we think it is an Roketa MC-34-125 or MC-D34?

I'm pretty sure it is a Skyteam! I believe that Roketa moved away from rebranding to distributing, but I think they try not to play up who they sell so that their dealers will keep them as a 'one-stop shop' and not try to deal with their mfg's directly.
The guy who owns Excalibur Motorsports, Wade Liu, told me that Roketa's owner had gone to prison for several months and paid out a huge fine to California a few years back. Roketa used to rebrand several brands' products as their own. Then, apparently, they got greedy. They used to sell quite a few enduros, made by Shineray. Then, they found a 'no-name' manufacturer who made them for Roketa, but used falsified MCO's and VINs as if they were made by Shineray. I guess it was quite a few--then the state found out...
Not to go too far off-topic, but a background as to Roketa, and my theory as to why they don't play up all the mfg's they carry.
If you look closely at the photos on Roketa's site for the MC-34-125, you can read 'Skyteam' on the side of the engine, and 'ST 125'

Thanks, I'll call it a Sky Team MC-D34 until I get the bike.
