Gardo the bike is looking sweet and so is that carrier on the back of the X. Miss my X at times. Had a red one! Glad to hear it is still running like a beast with throttle left as well. Today I will run the hose and teflon tape everything and hopes that it holds air..LOL Question for you tho. I notice you have your seat in the furtherest back position, Does your seat rub the fender? Also does your air bladder of the air bag stay straight up? Mine seems to be angled forward a bit but my seat is in the middle position and when i tried the furthest back it would rub the fender..

Thx Irish, that carrier needed to be modded a bit to fit right with the X but for $120 USD couldn't beat it. held the bike well and the X didn't even notice it back there :lol8:

I have my seat in the furthest position, even adding a washer or 2 to the fender it still rubs at times. All the paint is gone in a small area. I dont mind it too much, I have scars and my lil scoot does too. I actually prefer the furthest position.

Now with the airbag make sure you check the pressure every 2 days

What does this do and can I smack a filter on it and get rid of the plastic piece and tube running to the intake? I bought the k&n filter for it but the metal piece the hose attaches to wont work with it. Anyone who knows what it does and if I can throw a filter on it right were it comes off the engine I would appreciate the help

Yeah man, I took all that stuff off my bike. Remove that canister and pop a filter on the crankcase vent. It's been so long I don't quite remember what connects on the top side of the canister... Either gas tank vent or Air filter? Make sure you do something about those as well. Run the tank vent out the front of the bike. Cap off the hole left in the stock filter elbow.

Most have used a regular $10 filter from the parts store. I used a Harley EVO breather bolt.

A word of caution: If you overfill your oil this is where it'll be venting out so removing that piece will cause oil to fling everywhere in that situation.

MK2 you can throw and Evo breather filter on the manifold hose. the rest of it is all evap system that can come off

MK2 if/when you pull that stuff off change the cone filter as well because it connects to the elbow joint behind the cone

Quick word on kickstarts -

I had a guy ask me about mine through my flickr pics, sent him a link to the one I have, he responds he ordered it and actually recieved the wrong one, but that it clears the d&g pipe and probably even the stocker. Mailed him back to find out what he's got but haven't heard anything. When I do I'll post up.

all right appreciate the help. in theory could i just run the hose open down toward the ground? and kevin where did you get that bolt, because i just rode to the local harley shop, and aside from everyone thinking there shit didn't stink because they rode 30,000$ bikes the guy looked at me like i was retarded when i asked if he had anything like that, i even showed him the picture. :S

i looked and ended up finding those breathers on ebay, but 49 for a bolt is a bit steep for my taste. idk what i am gonna do with the whole set up yet, i suppose i have a week or so to find something to run. i can just do all my "mods" when i swap the head and carb.
