I don't know of any larger tank that will fit on the DF without mods but should not be too hard to fit one. The stock tank holds a little over two gallons which gives me a range of 150 miles or so.
Lots of Harley Sportster tanks on Ebay.

I'd think twice about ordering from www.extremescooters.biz
Got my DF250 a week+ ago. Damaged in shipping, lights/blinker not working, broken turn sigs, oil leak (slings from chain onto frame and rear tire) and other problems. Already spent $100 to get the lights looked at, and my mech can't do anything about the leaky seal without a replacement seal.
They just drop ship from Sunny Sports and I can't get ahold of them...715-345-0453 no longer a working number. Tried many, many different ways...even got the owners number from Sunny Sports but just leave unanswered voice mails.
Anyone else having problems with finding neutral? Or is this yet another issue with my bike?
Seems like I'll pull up the shifter, wiz right past neutral into 2nd, then push back down and skip N for 1st. Got to hit it just right...and by that time the lights have changed.
BTW
Barnone:
How are you adjusting the seat suspension? and re the saddle bags you got off bay are those the soft or hard sided ones?

I had a problem with neutral also. I changed the oil brand and it has improved. It will go in neutral easy 9 out of 10 times after the oil change. Sorry to hear you had problems with your bike, I had a few myself. Luckily I was able to fix mine without having to call, and there are a few issues i should call about like a leaky tank and ripples in the rear fender. I just don't feel like waiting on hold for 20 min and having one of those rude ladies answer and tell me it's my fault.
It will require some modification and fabrication to work. I'm fitting a Gilera tank right now and the two issues I needed to address are the horizontal tabs for mounting the stock tank (I bent them up against the backbone) and the voltage regulator (which I have to relocate and shave-down the mounting bracket. Both were interferring with the tank's tunnel, not allowing the tank to drop down far enough. That's all sorted now. I only need to media blast the tank and do a little body work before painting.Quote:
Anybody know of a larger aftermarket gas tank that fits on this bike?

No problem finding neutral for me.
The first time I adjusted the seat height I took the bolts out of both ends and took the spring to my vise to break it loose. After that I could just take one end loose and turn it to tighten the spring to raise the back of the seat for my weight. I now have the preload to the max for my 210lbs. Lighter riders might not need as much preload.
The saddle bags are stiff synthetic material made to look like leather. I got them off ebay but can't find them anymore. Sorry.
Here are pics of my latest mods. The SAI removal with blocker plate and moved the ignition down to the sai valve bracket to clean up neck. Also the 35t sprocket in black looks better.
I used castrol 4t motorcycle oil and have no problems with neutral.
The ccw/pit motors site has the heist style gas tanks that will fit this bike if you like those.
Gump out.
i have been reading this thread for hours, and boy am i excited to get one now, though it will be some time, but i plan on it in the next few month, i do have a few questions that i was unable to answer from my readings, on the forum majority of the people said that the DF will reach a speed on 68ish, in washington the highway is 60, though i do not plan to travel on them much i still need to in order to get off base and go somewhere, will the df be able to handle that with out a problem, and the occasional ride to seattle on the hwy which is about 30-40 miles? and second, the only things i need to register the bike is the vin and MSO, ( what is an MSO) and where do i get a vin number from.
i know i just threw a lot of questions at ya'll but thanks for any replies
Well I've got 40+ pounds on you barnone so I guess I'll have to pre-load it.
Shame about the saddle bags as I like how yours fit. Have to start searching around or have some made. Know if they were made for a specific bike/style?
I'll have to get a seat cover too. Left her out in the sun for less than an hour and just about burned my ass (wearing jeans) it was so freaking hot...like sticking your ass up to a fire for too long.
Finally heard back from extremescooters.biz today so we'll see if I get the needed parts.
Anyone in Austin,TX should take their china bike to bad boyz cycle. Great guy (Mike - Owner) that doesn't mind working on them. Did remark that he thought the frame was well put together and that it was fun to ride. And he a Harley guy.
Still in the engine breaking period so I'll switch oil after that and see if neutral is easier to find...might have to put some hair around it.
